Has anyone read about the ongoing F1 name dispute Fernandes is involved in? Well in a nutshell team lotus is soon to become team Caterham and this would seem a perfect way for Fernandes to get some free publicity for his new brand.

Isn't there a big argument between Citeh and the FA about their sponsorship deal, regarding not being able to sponsor your football team with one of your own companies??? I would actually find that quiet insulting to Rangers if that is the deal Fernandes has struck as it basically means the club get no money. Which I know isn't really an issue as he's pouring his own money in, but wouldn't it make more sense to bring outside money in??? He can stick as many Air Asia or Team Caterham signs up around the ground as he likes which will be seen worldwide and it's not like an F1 team needs publicity is it.
Lotus is an iconic name from the golden era of motor racing. Caterham are best known as a niche-market manufacturer who took over the original Lotus 7. I remember Caterham as being a kit-car specialist back in the 70s but wonder whether they really would gain any benefit being associated with sponsoring a football team, it doesn't make business sense to me. The issues about self-sponsoring also seem a bit unclear in this case. Almost sounds like something Paladini would come up with...
Should our sponsor end up being Caterham 7, I think it would be worth pointing out that CB has previously confirmed this (along with Lotus), but everyone was so keen for it to be Pirelli that they misread it. If however it is not, my account has been hacked and someone else wrote this!
