Would need two XI's for a match on the full pitch to get their angles sorted. I remember Toby last year mentioned that his passing was off as he hadn't practiced at Wembley to get used to the lines.

How do you usually travel up from Ashford - high speed train and underground or M20 > M25 > M11?

I do both. It depends on the time of the match and getting home. I prefer the train/underground because I can have a few beers and often a meal afterwards, but evening matches usually mean the car, particularly the 20:00 kick-offs.

Somebody needs to bring a set of handlebars in case Steptonho needs a visual guide of what he can do with himself if he thinks he has a hope of managing us...

Eddie Hearn has given an interview saying how much he'd like to promote boxing at Tottenham Hotspur ST/\DIUM...

    https://www.ringnews24.com/2019/04/...ony-joshua-fight-to-new-stadium-in-tottenham/

Boxng was always going to be a great fit. The artificial pitch, being 6' lower than the grass one, means that the sight lines from the lower stand seats will be so much better than at other stadia. Add in the proximity of all seats to the action, the incredible screens/lighting/sound etc. and the massive potential from concessions and it's a massive draw for big fights.

My daughter and I had a burger in the Market Place about an hour and a half before the game. At £7.95 it represented really good value. It was piping hot, really good quality (brioche bun, proper cheese, etc,) and the fries were not reformed potato and crisp, as well as hotter than pretty much anything that I've been served at McDonalds/Burger King. What was even more impressive was the speed at which hard pressed staff were turning over the orders. It mocked other burger places and it was all done with a smile, despite the rush. I could also have it with a beer, which is a nice change from McDonalds/Burger King in the UK.

Returning to the potential for concessions front, someone on SSC with excellent links to an individual very high up in the club, has said that food/drink sales are running at three times the expected levels. Some bars ran out of beer on Saturday. Of course, Saturday's game was perfectly timed, giving people the opportunity to arrive early and stay late and the next 2 games won't have that luxury. However, if everyone attending spends an average of £10, which doesn't seem too optimistic, given the premium offerings. That's an average of £600k in income a game. Say, 27 home games a season, plus 16 non-football events, that's going to generate in excess of £25m per season. I reckon that weekend games could well do over £1m a game, at current rates.

Just a tip from my daughter....leave the magnet at the bottom of the glass well alone....or you're going to have wet footwear. She tapped the bottom of her glass and it didn't empty it but enough annointed her Vans for us to have to wash them.

The only issue is adverse weather (rain specifically) .

If you could get a temporary canopy high/bigh enough over the ring to protect it
without blocking too many sight lines, then you could fill a fair amount of the stadium
even under those conditions. So you would sell at least N,000 tickets for the
'canopy' config, and if the Met forecasts definitely predict no rain on the week of the fight
for that day then you could increase the seats as the canopy wil not be there.

"My daughter and I had a burger in the Market Place about an hour and a half before the game.
At £7.95 it represented really good value. ..."

This is what we were hoping for (decent food/service/prices, nice env etc) .
I trust the club will get its supply/staffing levels finely tuned in advance, based
on likely attendance figures for each game.

I couldn't resist tapping my magnet either but I did wait until the glass was nearly empty.

Yep, we found that out at the U18s. My cousin has since twice tried fingering my beer. Got a smack for his troubles on the second time.

Managed to confirm I’m going to Huddersfield, Everton and maybe Brighton games. I’m way too excited to wait nearly 2 weeks for Huddersfield. I’m going to try not to finger any beer I buy when I’m there... <laugh> <laugh> <laugh>
