Anything that comes under the banner of this thread. Hope that helps. The previous post was complex, I must admit.
I've barely bought any in my life. Constitutes about 5% of my music collection. - Tupac best of which actually is very good. - Jazzmatazz Guru - Volume 1 (jazz/ hip hop) which is at times brilliant. - Jazzmatazz Guru - Volume 2 which is okay. - Fugess - the score. Has some great tracks on it. - Eminem - The Marshall Mathers LP - hated him at the time as a teenager but since quite enjoy his older stuff. - Eminem - The Eminem Show - really good actually. - Ja Rule - Blood in My Eye - ****. Childhood mistake. - Nas - Life is Good. Not bad - has some good tunes. - Some form of best of which has the classics on it like Warren G, Snoop Dog, D-12. It's never been my scene though. Loved all forms of alternative growing up. Give these a go:
I've managed to catch them live twice - ****ing brilliant! I loved them as a kid - still listen to the odd tune here and there.
Anything? A whole genre of music, dismissed out of hand? Most commercial music, whatever the genre, is unimaginative, formulaic, boring, or just plain ****. That’s what makes the rare nuggets of brilliance stand out. Must admit I’m more of a rock n rolla myself. I’d give anything a listen once though. Even Disco.
Did you see The Defiant Ones documentary with Dre? I'm 47 so my era was mid 80s: Ultramagenetic Mcs, Erik B, EPMD, Marley Marl, etc... All my crew are into painting too? Did you write when you were a kid? Some of them still go bombing now well into middle age
Yeah it's a very good watch I used to write, paint, draw we had to get our mind active back then, I'm 43. Nowadays technology suppresses creativity...or that's what I think is the issue.
I meant painting .... doing graff. A writer is a graff artist. My lot still have pieces up all about. If you are 43, were you into (late) 80s hip-hop, graff?
