First of all, gutted. Thought we should have at least got a point from it.

I don't think we can fault the front two of Sess and Gyan, both had absolutely brilliant games, I thought Gyans goal shows exactly what he's all about.

Now, onto the defence. Bardo, again played really well and put his body on the line. The mid-3 CB COULD NOT DEAL with the balls into the box. All of their goals came from dead ball situations, something which we should be working on, especially after the chelsea game when most of their decent chances came from dead balls.

Bramble, certainly should have followed Huth in for the final goal. Gordon should have been stronger, but I couldn't really fault him, he was battered by Carew for most of the game.

In Midfield, Ricco's goal scoring continues, but the rest of the MF, Muntari and Henderson, for me, could have played a lot better. Brucey needs to drop Henderson like a hot potato, he has been awful. Straight up awful. Cannot pass. Cannot cross. Cannot put his foot in. Thank god he's been taken off corner duty.

Overall, a good attempt, but drop Henderson and sort some of the defensive mistakes out and we'll pick some points up soon.

    Haway the lads!

Agree with most of that except that Gordon was most certainly at fault. Weak as water when the ball's in the air

When he wasn't being fouled he took the ball cleanly.

Exactly my point. He was pushed and punched for the majority of the game, and when Stoke didn't crowd him out, he took the ball clean out of the air. Can't blame flash, for me.

Absolutely gutted. We played the better football through out yet feel pray to what we all knew would happen. Personally I am fuming, I can take us losing but like that is devastating. The ref was a ****ing homer today. Hardly any decisions went our way from either him or his ****-wit of a linesman. Some **** should teach them the offside law. And still dubious of ****ing free kicks went to them, as soon as one of their players hit the deck he couldn't wait to blow. Also how the **** does Delap get away with drying the ball? Surely that an outside influence using that towel.

    Bitter......to ****ing right I am!

^^ Calm down spoony, its been and gone now, we've got to take the positives and work on what went wrong.

Can't work on Henderson though, he's ****e, and needs to warm the bench for better quality players.

Stoke definately unsettled Flash by putting a man on him for every set piece. Henderson looks well out of sorts and looks like he's lost his confidence, which is sad to see. Muntari is yet to reach full match fitness but still put in a shift. Sess looks the business to me, very skillful. Ned looked knackered in the second half, letting etherington get the better of him once too often. We were always going to struggle against the high balls into the box and in defence of the officials, some of the stuff that we could see on replays, must have been very difficult for them to see in the crowded box.

There's certainly something to be said about employing extra officials behind the goal, which I believe is being trialed at the moment? The result would have been in our favour had they been there!

this gorden is weak as water in the air and he allways will be bruce said two comments after the game witch sums it up you expect the reff to be strong and the goal keeper to deal with some of the crosses for the goals thats what bruce said after the game against wolves too

Very painful loss but there were plenty of positives, mainly in attack to be fair. Yes Henderson has been poor recently but give the lad a break he's only a kid he's bound to struggle at times looks like a star of the future to me

Mate, what the **** does that say?

Gordons a top class keeper, I'd like to see some of the lads that are criticising him do any better after being bashed around for 90minutes!

Recently? If recently means he's done naff all since his ENG debut. If we want to keep 6th position (which is looking less and less likely now Liverpool are playing well again) he needs to benchwarm for the rest of the season. NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

At least were not going to playing teams like that every week, Stoke are an awful "football" team

Do you agree that Henderson should be dropped? Or are you so blinded by his local-lad image you'd carry on playing him as SAFC drop more points?

so henderson's having a bad spell. Thats happens to any player, especially young ones. I agree he needs a rest, but sell? no ****ing way.

Why the **** you judging the lad over the last 6 games or so? He has played 69 games for us, and over that period 93% of his games have been good ones.

Gordon could of done better on their 2nd goal, but overall he was fantastic considering the batterin he was getting. JOnes blattantly fouled him at one point, and Flash almost lost it - he even swore! never thought i would see Gordon get angry.

I know he has had more than a few average games since then but it's not like we have an abundance of options is it, I would also think that if he can pull through this 'bad' patch and see the faith that Bruce has in him chances are it'd make him a stronger player.
