Also, did Fergie's influence make Jose play the United way?

Unfortunately Moyes didn't help himself. There are a couple of massive differences between him and Ole. Firstly, he got rid of all the backroom staff which was clearly a mistake when you've had an established setup for a previous manager who's been there for over 26 years. Secondly, he thought he got "the United way" by going overdrive on wing play with a billion crosses. What's happened over the last 4 months is what should've happened then - a manager who truly understands the United ethos and the football, who has brought in support staff particularly Phelan, and the added benefit of Fergie... all to implement the transition that should've happened under Moyes - and in great part has been the touch paper to what's been going wrong ever since.

I always got why the likes of Ole didn't immediately follow Fergie and that we then needed some big club experience after Moyes went wrong, although I'd have let Giggs carry on personally.

The appointment should have been after LVG, but Woodward's head was turned by the unemployed Jose Mourinho.

Still, Jose got us a couple of minor trophies here and there and made sure the squad would back whoever took over so this could turn out to be the perfect time.

Ole has just asked advice from Ferguson, which the previous two pig heads would never do. I'm sure Fergie takes a back seat again next season.

Just seen that he's got the job. It'll be interesting to see how it goes as he buys and sells players.

Just waiting for Kipper to come on here now and claim some sort of victory about Ole being appointed Utd manager and Poch staying at Spurs.

Calling it ahead of needing to call it, because he's that predictable

Would it not actually be more like :

some sort of banter towards those who claimed that Pochettino would be
Man Utd manager by the start of the 2019-20 PL season.

Poch is probably regretting telling United he wasn’t available till the summer, as Ole the stand in has got the job. With ZZ at Real it seems that Poch is stuck at Spurs. Oh well at least he can have some nice cheese and watch the NFL.

I haven't seen that one, but those traffic notices are quite funny. The Ghostbusters one last year was another.
