I drive a lot on the M20. What happens with restricted speed limits, (many of the lorries) is that in order to pass the trucks slip-stream each other, sometime as close as half a metre. They then pull out without looking and frequently side-swipe cars overtaking. If cars do this as well it will be carnage.

If people have low driving skills like that they should definitely be limited on speed.
But I would support a faster limit on motorways: 80mph or even 90mph. The important thing is to limit speed to 30mph in built up areas. Hitting someone at 30mph is often not fatal, hitting someone at 40mph almost always is. And if someone steps out 45 feet in front of you while travelling at 30mph you'll likely stop without touching them. If you are going at 40mph you'll still be above 35mph when you hit them and they'll most likely die.

Did they ever build a road anywhere just for trucks?

So the indicative votes indicated f*** all <doh>
Only the customs union and public vote to ratify any "deal" came close to a majority.
It's like trying to agree on what to order from a Chinese menu - too many options, too many different preferences, too many things to either love or hate...

So the house can’t agree on any new proposals from a list as long as a take out menu.

Yet they did overwhelmingly vote to trigger Article 50 way back when knowing full well the default position is to leave the EU, deal or no deal. Now they refuse to follow through.

These clowns aren’t fit to run a bath.

It’s what I feared would happen. The idiots have voted for their own personal preferences and voted against or abstained on everything else.

So much for seeking a consensus.

It would be nice to know at the very least which political party
in Sweden those MEPs represent (IMHO you could reasonably
infer their EU allegiances etc so as to believe their "we pressed
    the wrong button" claim) .

Little by little all of our assumed freedoms of years back disappear, generally because they are making things safer (and who would argue with that?) One thing at a time until you wake up 10 years down the line and realise how much has changed.

Won't take them too long to get side-swiped. You need the third outside lane and be prepared to put your foot down and break the law, albeit briefly, in order to avoid having an accident. If they use the 2nd lane to overtake, they will have no chance. If the take the other option and brake hard, they will cause a pile-up.

I doubt the lab work on the M20 has anything to do with "freedoms" .
