(some of this info is courtesy of wikipedia) The club was founded in 1895 as Thames Ironworks FC and reformed in 1900 as West Ham United. The Hammers enjoyed their best times in the 1960s and indeed Englandâs World Cup winning team included goal scorers Geoff Hurst and Martin Peters, as well as captain Bobby Moore. West Ham were the last side from outside the top flight to lift the FA Cup when, in 1980, Trevor Brookingâs goal was enough to beat Arsenal. Pompey finished 3rd with 88 points, 80 goals scored. The difference of ONE GOAL saw the Hammers go up and Pompey resigned to the play-offs, where they lost to Leicester in the semis. Pompey would have to wait another 10 years for their promotion. As much as I hate to say it- gotta go for a West Ham win- but please prove me wrong. I predict 2-1 West Ham, but hope for a 2-0 win for Pompey. Predict a very exciting game though- should be a good one- are there any tickets left ?? PUP
I don't know I'm just guessing! He sent Lawrence off and gave them a penalty, but we got one back, after I posted that, so, sorry ref.
Just saw your highlights on final score, Lawrence could have been a straight red and your pen was a blatant dive!
Oh well fair enough, you know how it is when you are losing, actually atm you probably don't! How many out of 6 for the dive, technical merit, difficulty etc?
Would you be prepared to concede, that 4 of your points, at least, have been fairly fortunate, to say the least, we have had more bad luck than good and it could have been a lot less than 9? between 4 and 6 I'll grant you, so you'd still be ahead but you are in a false position IMHO.
It was ok but he has work to do to match the Chinese. You'd better hope he can pull it off when it really matters!
It's a shame that matches can't be reviewed and behaviour like this punished. I am dead against tv evidence during matches, (check my history on CMS!) but for foul play, it would stop it overnight, if lengthy bans followed what is blatant cheating, after due deliberation.
Fortunate??How is that possible? We dominated the game against leeds, barnsley,Ipswich,Millwall and Leicester and i've heard that we were a bit lucky to pick up 3 points today but we we were unlucky not to win against Leicester.
Possible but it's a real can of worms. I am on your side over TV evidence though. And on luck, we could have easily lost today and not had that many complaints, whilst 3-4 at West Ham is not a crap result. But you won't catch me complaining.
Ugh. Ffs. Fat sam you dirty gloating c*nt. Nevertheless i doubt many teams will score 3 at upton park so theres plenty to be positive about and we're starting to gel (we're always slow starters anyway) PUP
Sour Grapes? No it's not sour grapes. Are we supposed to let you have a ^^wind up^^ and not be allowed to say anything in return? I have made a valid point I think. Southampton were fortunate against Millwall and Forest, both games could easily have been draws which would reduce your total by four. We have had the same in reverse, where a couple of draws could have been won, giving us four more points than we have. That would make the difference one point. How you see anything that I have said, as anything other than reasoned debate is beyond me. Have a think before you post anything on our board again, please.
I am not sure that I would call the Forest result yesterday lucky, Meowth. It was a very open, end to end sort of game, which could have gone either way. If you start to call that 2 lucky points, then where do you stop? Could be very interesting to see where we are come the first derby.
