I've finally come to the realisation that my loyalty to Shane Long has run its course. The one single goal stat under the last four gaffers is mildly amusing, and it will never be replicated, but it also heavily suggests he has out stayed his welcome by a season or two. Many of us consider staying up Ralphs biggest job, but in truth, him trimming this obese squad in the summer IS his biggest job.
Good news I would say that our rearranged game against Watford is a week after the Brighton-Cardiff rearranged game. Gives us a much clearer idea as to whether we'll need to win, or if a draw will be absolutely fine. (And equally, it helps to cloud the issue for Brighton and Cardiff.) (And, for that matter, Brighton's rearranged game Chelsea and Cardiff's rearranged game against City will both take place before we take on Liverpool in two games time. Not that that should matter though - you'd expect us to all lose those games.)

Ours looks pretty good...if you didn't know that we are rubbish at beating average to poor teams Joking aside...looks worse for Burnley and Cardiff.
https://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/news/49988/ Analysis of what is needed to stay up (according to Ugly Inside). The author points out that we would get 38 points if we carried on gaining the same points per game as we have done up to now (and that includes the poor results under Hughes) and would finish on 40+ points if we gained the points per game under Ralph alone. No guarantees of course, but encouraging.
https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/premier-league-title-winners-top-14194834 Various 'experts' have suggested who will top the EPL and which teams will be relegated....none have gone for Southampton to be relegated or win the title...and we know pundits are never wrong.
How dare they? All of the top 15 could be deducted 70 points for financial irregularities and we could win all our remaining fixtures!
