Had it confirmed that former #hcafc player and boss Nick Barmby is joining #Scunthorpe United in a coaching capacity until the end of the season.

Coaching youth teams locally (Willerby and Westella and Wyke Sixth Form College, among others, it my memory is working) and spending time with his son in the States. He's done some stuff for local charities that I'm aware of too. Generally being a decent bloke, in short.

He must have signed a long NDA on leaving HCAFC. I don't recall reading an in-depth account of what went on while he was at the club - or have I missed it?

Maybe he's just drawn a line under that chapter of his career and got on with his life in a dignified manner, without feeling the need to seek attention from the media.

It's not that difficult to invalidate an NDA. Well that's what I was told by Stormy Daniels.

Barmby is a big mate of Andy Dawson. Always knocked around together on and off the training pitch, so no great surprise.

    I hope not.
I want to see Nige given the chance to re-build something special here again.
However, if he does leave, how good would it be to have success under Nick, Daws .... and Ash would have to be in there too. It may take something like that to rebuild a connection.
    Yes, I know, it's the hope .......

Yes, the days of us and Scunthorpe being rivals are long gone.

    Or are they?

All the best to Daws and Nick. They deserve everything based on their status, professionalism and contribution to football in general
