He had the opportunity to join the best team in England, rather than stay and work under Rodgers who is a muppet?

I don’t think you can begrudge of him of choosing that option. A decision which was justified given his development since.
The end doesn't justify the means.

In my opinion he should have stayed another season, repaid the faith in him, carried on developing and then the world was his oyster not just city. And btw Rodgers gave him the initial chance that made him catch city's eye.

Panto booing at games is comical, Beckham had it for a season after the 98 WC. It's the stick the press give Sterling that is unforgivable. He was booed at Anfield and I would guess he still is, like Rooney, Barkley etc will get/got at Goodison.

Ashley Cole was booed and mocked, but he did cheat on wor Cheryl...
An Everton fan talking about booing <laugh>

I don't blame players trying to get the best from what are very short careers.

Teams have no loyalty to the players, why should players have loyalty to clubs?

That said, I do dislike Owen for dicking is three times and being a hypocritical ****e!

I could forgive the move to Real, but going to Newcastle when he could have come to us (and all the while saying how much he loves Liverpool) and then kissing the badge at United... Meh, that's sliminess a little too far.

Coutinho, Sterling, I forgive.

Torres is a little bit more difficult to forgive since he forced a last minute sale, but I even forgive him.

Sterling was horrible. Rodgers made him and then he started inventing lies that it was all because of him that he had to move. In reality he had his move planned since [HASHTAG]#dayone[/HASHTAG] and just needlessly trashed him for more money.

He had the opportunity to join the best team in Germany but talks with Bayern 'fell through', possibly when city offered him £200k a week.

Even if he stayed another year, if he didnt sign a contract you most of you boys would still probably have hated him.

Generally how it all goes

Not sure he deliberately played worse that season mito (i remember him still being one of your better players despite the season pool were having) but he was definitely not as good as he was with suarez (no surprises).

Saying that the booing works on sterling, always seems to bottle it against liverpool

no.

why assume I don't know the rule when I see it not being applied week in week out.

defenders do have to cover the next phase and if ball is not directly to a player it's not flagged.

e.g... I can run as a striker behind a left side cb but the ball goes out to wing but I've already distracted that left full with my run. if next ball is to me and forward ok but my run has already gained.my.team a bit of space.... if of course the defender reacts to it and not just assuming I am off.
In the post i replied to you said

For me if a forward is advanced of the line but is not offside then the Defenders MUST position themselves to be able to somehow cover him in the next phase. Thus he is automatically interfering with play.

It is that last sentence which i disagreed with.

I've no doubt that Sterling left for the money. Personally I sort of don't blame him for following through, he was a young lad being badly advised by his agent. You're right about the fans, most hate the way he left. I don't understand why these players who could leave as legends choose not to.

fair enough.

my view is if a defender has to cover 2 people even though one is probably offside but not being blown up then the other player is getting an advantage as the defender can't get tight enough.

that's my point.

if you make a run and go offside the defender has to just let you go and step up which is clear ... thats regualr stuff... but if you are just deliberately flirting with the line, you know you are off but you'll then pull back to a position for a cut back for example then you've probably gained advantaged and interfered with play as defender ends up in different position.

you might say defenders fault... which is a different point.

No but after forcing his move, he got booed at most grounds because of the way he acted, not just Anfield

What grounds, think that’s a broad statement for fans who possibly didn’t care where he played.

I'm talking about your fans booing at practically every game.

That’s a very general and sweeping statement. There has been times this season where performances have been poor so sections have let the team know. Barkley got panto boos, but as he left the pitch (he applauded the home and away) and was applauded be sections of home fans.

He left for more money and better opportunity, I would have liked for him to stay.

Well he was offered more and to move to a better team. His move has paid off, winners medals and a development in his all round game are worth a few boos I’m sure. Keep playing like this and he could be a City legend for sure.

that's be like psg fans calling neymar a legend.

or Celtic fans calling anyone I their team while.rangers were gone from league legends.

unopposed leagues and mega rich clubs just have plastics.

legends are legends cos they do something legendary.

oh i agree but unfortunately the rules don't say that as they are written by idiots basically it is quite hard to be offside unless the ball is played straight to you.
Offside offence

A player in an offside position at the moment the ball is played or touched* by a team-mate is only penalised on becoming involved in active play by:

  • interfering with play by playing or touching a ball passed or touched by a team-mate or
  • interfering with an opponent by:
  • preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent’s line of vision or
  • challenging an opponent for the ball or
  • clearly attempting to play a ball which is close when this action impacts on an opponent or
  • making an obvious action which clearly impacts on the ability of an opponent to play the ball
*The first point of contact of the 'play' or 'touch' of the ball should be used

Someone earlier said he could have been a Liverpool legend....what’s the draw to that for a QPR graduate.
