It's a real problem in that part of the world ... but very hard to address without punishing the majority who don't abuse ...
Thought Sterling’s comment after the game was a brilliant put down. Something like, “we know what colour our skin is, not sure what they’re trying to tell us.” Good lad.
They might also be warned that if it happens on a regular basis then there is the prospect of possibly at some point in the future maybe having to play a game behind closed doors. Probably against someone like San Marino or Luxembourg.
Just seen this disgraceful cheating from the weekend: I wonder how common this is when players think that they can avoid getting caught on camera? Glad they lost.
Is that true ? Proper ****ed up if it is. And like you say, shows where the priorities are, commercial interest is more important the fighting racism.
Bendtner got fined £80k. You could argue that closed stadiums cost countries more, but only Romania have had an equivalent fine: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/footbal...es-banners-uefa-has-dealt-racism-last-decade/
There's a few fines in there that are up in the £70k - £80k region, coupled with closed stadiums which would cost hundreds of thousands.
I agree. I’m disappointed in the rumour that United are not prepared to give Herrera the same wages as people like Luke Shaw... he’s one of the best players we have and loves the club. He could sign for Barca/Juve/PSG today if he wanted to but wants a new contract here. We have said £100k tops and Phil ****ing Jones is on that!
Herrera has always been treated shoddily by United. The club doesn't deserve the loyalty and commitment he's given.
I've mentioned on a few occasions that I think he's a cracking player, Utd would be crazy to let him walk for free.
If you saw him at Bilbao and then look at his time at United, he's never been played to his full potential at United.
