The only other game when we come up against a team with 12 players is when we visit Mould Trafford on the 11th of February 2012. Stevie Wonder could see that was a hand-ball.

    Woah...

I listened to the game and I did wonder how we didn't score... Some epic defending by Stoke!

We'll pick ourselves up and look forward to the next game.

Good luck to Stoke for the rest of the season. You played well today.

    My thoughts on the game:

Brilliant result. Ryan Man of the Match, but Deano was superb. The spine of the team was fantastic today. Deano, Rory, Upson, Shawcross excellent.

Charlie Adam - Overrated show pony. Jordan Henderson - Just plain crap every time i've seen him play.

Loved the Andy Carroll chant today: "Andy Carroll, I bet you're still drunk"

You think??? I was thinking of reporting that to the police, as we were mugged!

I know Stoke along with Coventry occupy the very shallowest end of the gene pool, but even those inbred ****ers can't find that enjoyable every week. having the grass too long to play a passing game on, having between 6 to 8 players in the box all match, having the narrowest pitch, etc, all spoiling tactics. Who enjoys that? What club is happy with the mentality of "Well we can't beat them fair and square, so lets do what we can to stop the other team playing and see what we can grab. Saying that, as spoiling tactics go, I prefer Stoke to a Fat Sam team, who just go to kick the **** out of other teams.

But as a Stoke fan, you must go away from the ground thinking "We got away with it", can you be happy with that?

What really annoyed me today, was Liverpool determination to cross into the box to score. If only we had switched to trying to dribble the ball into the box and get a few penalties. How on earth can you keep that up for that last 25 minute spell, thinking that this cross will get through, while the last 50 didn't. Stoke must have been delighted, that we never had the brains to switch tactics in the face of a zero percent success rate. Isn't that the definition of insanity? repeating the same task, expecting a different outcome? Very disappointing from the reds in the end.

Crouch was atrocious all game. Reminded me why we got rid of him in the first place, he is average in the air, average on the floor and weak as hell.

Stokes man of the match was Mark Clattenberg, two decisions and he got both horribly wrong.

I don't know why the Liverpool fans are getting so upset about not getting a penalty for handball - with the way they finished today, the ball would probably have gone 10 yards over the bar.
You can have all the possession in the world but if you can't shoot even remotely close to the net, what good does it do you.

Until Henderson was allowed the opportunity to run through unchallenged, I can't think of one save Begovic had to make - granted he then made 3 super stops in the space of 15 seconds.
Even Suarez, who otherwise had a good game could'nt hit an open net from 10 yards at the death.

One thing I do know, if we had given Utd that much possession, no matter how well we defended, they would score at least three. This year will be a two horse race between the Mancs-Pool fans should just accept that this year they will be a top 4 team, but for their undoubted talent, they are still a long way from being realistic title winners.

    Well played Carragher <applause>

    http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11669_7168556,00.html?

Jamie Carragher has praised Stoke City's dogged defence after a frustrating evening for Liverpool at the Britannia Stadium.

The visitors, who travel to Tottenham for their next encounter, went down 1-0 to the Potters, with Jon Walters scoring the only goal of the game from the penalty spot after being felled by Carragher.
Liverpool threw a barrage of attacks at Stoke's defence, but the home side put in a resilient display in keeping them out, with Ryan Shawcross and Asmir Begovic particularly impressive.

"That's the Premier League and that's football, it's Stoke's day today," said vice-captain Carragher, despite having doubts over the penalty awarded against him.

"We can probably be pleased with the way we've performed but at the end of the day we've come away with nothing.

"They defended great. They do great their keeper and the back four. They've been like that for a long time, especially at home.

"And, being a defender myself, you can only admire how they did it, especially in the second half."

Carragher was reluctant to make a judgement on the accuracy of the penalty decision against him, but certainly feels Liverpool should have had one of their own.

He added: "I'd like to see it again but at the time I thought it was a little bit harsh. It may have been or it may not have been, I'll have to have a look at it.

"One has gone against us and the others haven't gone for us, so we feel a little bit aggrieved.

"It's a disappointing day but if we can play like that at Spurs hopefully we'll get something."

  19. I agree Nick!!! What with narrow pitches, dodgy referees and low gene pool players/fans plus hey now we even fail to cut our grass. I've got to say, you Liverpudlians, you are dead right. I hate going to Stoke and winning, particularly against a team with such stratospheric ambitions. Yes I am going to burn my season ticket right now and throw myself under a train.

Careful boys, you could surpass Sunderland and Wet Sham fans for your unbelievable arrogance. You lost today, you were simply not good enough (despite some decent diving antics from Mr Suarez). LIVE WITH IT. Come on You MIGHTY MIGHTY POTTTEEERRRSSSS!!!!!!!!KTF ps Nobolox or whatever you are called it is not true that we are all inbreds in Stoke, we leave that little game to our beloved Windsor family.
