As a follow up to the above post, I returned to the Apple Store, today, armed with a copy of my credit card statement (from November 2013, that the postman had thoughtfully delivered to the wrong address!) and without any hassle was given a replacement iPad, free of charge. Excellent service, but what pleased me more than anything was the following. My wife, a wheelchair user, was with me and for the first time in a very long time, in any establishment, the person who greeted us interacted with my wife, first, rather than look over her at me. Until you have the dynamic of a wheelchair user and someone pushing it, I don’t think people realise just how dismissive they can be of the person in the chair. It’s as if they associate being in a wheelchair as not being in possession of all their faculties, so there is a tendency to interact with the person who is behind the chair rather than the person in it. Also, the technician who helped me set up the new iPad made a point of introducing himself to my wife, as well as me, so a massive well done to the Apple Store for a wonderful customer service experience.
Wonderful to hear, StB and may be worth sending feedback to Apple. I once sent feedback to Pets at Home Twitter account about one of their staff in my local store. I found out later that she was given Staff Member of the Month award and a £200 bonus because of it.
I’m waiting to see if they send a follow up email asking for my comments on the service, if not I will certainly contact the store manager.
Plane load of passengers knew they were going to Dusseldorf....shame the flight crew thought they were going to Edinburgh Had to refuel in Edinburgh and set off again...arriving 3.5 hrs late. Wrong paperwork apparently.
Yep I agree with Helen - all too often we hear of the negative side of the 'Big Conglomerate', but as usual it is the people that make the difference to the brand. Makes me glad I have just spent the whole afternoon convincing my mate to buy an Apple Watch
They did send it and I have returned it giving high praise for their customer service and for making my wife feel good, for having been recognised as a person and not someone in a wheelchair to speak over.
Hippos can run faster than humans on land, and swim faster than humans in water...... Which means the bicycle is your only chance of beating a hippo in a triathlon.
Anyone following the Jussie Smollet case in America? This is set to rumble on after today's statement.
Horrifying, but the other thing that got me was this - "A few years later, when she had a baby to the man she was forced to marry." Not only do these poor girls have to put up with the agony of breast ironing and strapping, but then she's raped by a man generally two or three times her age. I'm thankful every day that I was born where and when I was.
