Here parents are asked to leave if they are shouting, mocking, use bad language. A game was stopped last week for U12’s because of players swearing in opposition side!

Same here to be fair, but you can feel the tension, and the groans, oh my god the groans!

Mourinho said that in England we teach youngsters how to win. In Spain and Portugal they teach youngsters how to play. Big difference.

Gary McAllister 'hospitalised after unprovoked street attack in Leeds'
Former Liverpool star Gary McAllister was left needing hospital treatment after an unprovoked street attack in Leeds.

Scotland international McAllister was beaten up while waiting for a taxi in Leeds city centre in the early hours of Sunday morning.

He was allegedly punched in the face before wife Hayley, who had been out for a meal with her husband, tried to pull his attacker off him.

I feel sorry for little kids learning the game these days. Vitriol and abuse from opposition supporters is something even some grown men find difficult to handle and there's no way children should be subjected to it. That - and the approval (tacit or explicit) of cheating from some coaches, pundits and the media doesn't bode well for the future of the game, imo.
Any parents giving abuse to their own or other kids should be banned from the pitch-side.

i find the whole "organised" aspect of the games the issue.

In my day you'd not play 11 a side until you were old enough to get the **** kicked out of you so you played with your mates where ever.

Its all so sanitised now, you get coached but its now formal and people fall into its a competition so get into it.

the beauty of football compared to any other sport is it needs no arena, jumps for goal posts blah blah.

I've seen first hand, not just in football, that there's also an aspect of teachers/coaches pets get picked when it's not always justified. Lots of talent not realised because the player was a bit small or a bit cheeky for instance.

Think its about same size as pitches they have at sportscentres outside.

The kids here love the setup/league. It’s competitive but the small pitches and smaller football means you can’t just thump it long.

I grew up as an U12 playing 11 v 11 on full pitch with a size 5. At 16 getting drafted into Sunday league and then men’s football on a Saturday and getting looked after by the old blokes(late 20’s/early 30’s)

I wouldn’t change it for the world, loved it....but would I have been better/played longer with the new setup of smaller games/smaller pitches.

The only thing I bring from my days is training games that start with 3 touch, then 2 and ending with 1. Great fun / great for making them think and move to space, nobody can coach that.

Bunch of nobodies 1 England 0 so far...

Never a great idea to spend the entire build up insulting them and baiting them with racist.

It will be interesting to see how awesome england are with the supposefly world class sterling and kane whk are no longer held back by henderson.

Tbf I (touchwood) have got lucky with my parents
Been one of two tricky moments but by in large I have been as honest as I can with them. I never asked to be the coach (but would not want to have it taken from me now :)
I tell them I have no intentions of trying to win. If it happens as a by product of the way we are playing then great but outside of that I want them passing to each other and enjoying themselves

But we have zero expectations so it is a lot easier to say that and they all seem fine with it

I have seen some of the other city junior teams and pro club affiliated teams and yeah the parents are unbelievable and I think it will get worse as they get into higher age groups

My daughters other girls team the other day had a parent (who I previously thought was fine) went over to the manager and started ordering the manager about - I was stunned tbh

But all good at minute in my team :)

Looked like Kane was way ahead when ball was played to sterling and that was never a second phase job as he never got back onside he may have just drawn level as last pass was made ???

Beating up on small fry again.

Ross Barkley gets 2. Sterling is world class. Hudson odoi now the world's greatest left winger
