In the battle of the footballing global minnows last night, Scotland edged above Gibraltar with a gutsy 2-0 win against SAN Marino. Both sides fielded 11 players that nobody had ever heard of. Sterner tests await for the Sweaty Socks IF they wish to climb above the Faroe Islands in the FIFA ratings.
Wales... good team, poor Manager N. Ireland … Good Manager, average team Eingerland …. surprising Manager, good young team and then there is Scotchland… a team and a Manager with zero confidence, the Notts County of International Football.
The future looks bright for England. I wouldn't pretend to support them, but I like the way they are playing now.
I think the hard work of dedicated coaches In Academies is starting to bear fruit. We are producing fast technically gifted players. I read an article in the Sunday Times saying that German coaches are coming to England to see how we do it. These youngster’s like Hudson -Odoi and Foden etc play without fear. I think great credit must go to Southgate for having the balls to dispense with the old guard and introduce the younger generation.
I remember him for them, I was so pleased that we did not win the World Cup under him. He cannot take penalties either.
