The rearing/killing of animals for food as humanely as possible is always the ethical concern (would you eat the meat if you had to kill the source animal yourself) . The "real estate" resources consumed to get each kg of meat is IMHO a far bigger concern. Would you eat insects as a meat alternative (a good protein source apparently - cultures in SE Asia do so) ?? "Growing meat in labs is now happening is that a good alternative?" https://spectrum.ieee.org/magazine/2013/June 6 yrs old (so I assume the tech has improved much since then) , but the underlying principles are there. Fooling the human mouth taste/texture receptors seems to be the primary challenge.
Indeed. Unfortunately, one resident member, and one ex resident appear to have consumed it all and regurgitate it on this board on a daily basis. I regret there are no prizes on offer for working out the two culprits.
Well, I wouldn't mind, I'd be safe in the knowledge that the meat was what it was supposed to be. Pretty sure there's plenty of people out there that would pay a premium if they could shoot the cow/pig/sheep/chicken themselves.
