He's a decent keeper. Besides its not comparable - they are League Champions and 1st in the league. We are 17th and have shown relegation form since April. Our signings HAVE to be good.

De Gea isn't fit to lick Szczesny's boots. They're miles apart at the moment. Even Krul at newcastle looks better than De Gea.
A Szczesny v de Gea comparison is unnecessary. Anyone can clearly see that Szczesny is the more complete goalkeeper and probably the best in his age category. de Gea is like most of the spanish keepers, very good on the line and good with their feet but apart from that they are not very strong with high balls, set-pieces and crosses. Reina and Valdes are from Barcelona Youth Acedemy and you can see they are a lot better on high balls and at intercepting trough ball than Casillas for example. Szczesny is confident with crosses, can start swift counter attacks with a long throw and excellent on the line. And that guy has nerves of steel, the way he just skilled his way past the Swansea striker yesterday was cool. But keep in mind that de Gea is still very young and is in a new country, league, style of play etc. In the Champions League he will certainly look better than against some of the Rugby teams in the Prem.
