Who did we need today? Oh yeah Meirles

A pretty poor performance today and what would i put the reason down to, our lack of creativity in the middle.
A few days back i put up a thread wondering if we were becoming a selling club, after selling our best players in the past two years. This idea i believe has fairly rebuffed but my opinion that meirles is our best midfielder bar Gerrard was unfairly treated, and has been proven today. Adam can play a good pass 50% of the time, Henderson is close to useless when not having a good game, and lucas as we know is a dm- lacking any creativity.

I believe meirles may have helped us to atleast get a draw today, by helping to open up the parked bus which is Stoke. It was a bad decision to sell and am not looking forward to watching Rauls performance on MOTD tonight.

Meireles wouldn't of made a difference against a physical side like Stoke. Far too weak for these type of games

And also 'poor performance'??? WTF - do you even watch matches or just sit with teletext on?

 

I watched the whole game and we had a couple of good chances. Henderson should have scored 100%, penalty may have been questionable but how can anyone say that was a good performance??? We lost to an inferior team

 

If you watched the team play, then you have no idea what constitutes a good performance. Is this the best WUM you can do? It's piss poor.

 

Im not a WUM ffs, someone accused me of this last time. Im just a negative person who has watched us lose to Stoke.

We certainly deserved the win.

 

gerrard woudl have helped today if he was fit, he'd have shot from range. don't think we missed raul in the middle becasue there wasn't really a middle as Stoke parked their bus so most of the game was in and around their box.

 

It was actually a very good performance but we got unlucky. That's how it goes sometimes. If we had won a dodgy penalty and scored early on it could have turned into a 3 or 4-0 scoreline. As it was, they got one so they shut up shop and were still lucky to avoid conceding.
