On a serious note I know we're still far from world beaters with a few obvious weaknesses but how great is it to have a national team with identity and one to be proud of. It makes it even better that it's Southgate in charge for me personally, so much so that I'm thinking of switching for a couple years.
Southgate has managed the transition to the next generation very well. Making the semis of the World Cup was a wee bit ahead of schedule, it's a very young squad for the international stage. 2022 is probably the big opportunity...none of the important players will have aged out of their prime years by then.
FA Vase semi final 2nd leg day today Canterbury City v Cray. Canterbury 1-0 down from 1st leg. A Wembley final awaits in May. Remember going to see city with my dad at the age of 6. Nothing like this has ever happened ever. A few beers in the brewery town of Faversham. Day sorted.
Could it be that the opposition are poor. Like whenever Saints win, the Press never say we are good, it is always the oppositions fault, through having an off day.
Another instance of 'where has the time gone' or 'when did a year get reduced to only 6 months long'. . It is 17 years since Mick McCarthy last managed the ROI team.
Jose Mourinho wants to come back to football management he says. He may have to wait though because Oldham told him to **** off!
