Biggest shame about Brexit for me is this.

People get entrenched in their camps and mud sling at the ‘opposition’... Making comments that may have validity to a proportion of the opposition but turning them into sweeping generalisations.

Which way you voted is down to a multitude of potential reasons. Demography, age, geography, life and work experience... and of course personal values and opinions many of which are shaped by your background and some which may not be. There’s a pretty sad, in my view, lack of tolerance on both sides to the fact that others have different life experiences and views and come at the situation from a very different perspective.

I’m talking about brexit rather than this thread but I have reminded myself why I sometimes read this thread for titillation but generally avoid contributing.:azn:

MPs job is to represent the people, labour will find out in the next election the result of not doing so.As for not informing the electerate of what would happen,no one knew for certain.
Most people wouldn't have expected party's to backstab our own country, again people won't forget,if we don't get brexit, then expect riots the like of which this country has never seen before,I believe.

    You’ve had worse ideas <laugh>

Actually they’re paid to act as independent representatives. That guy/girl you did or didn’t vote in. You’re saying ‘I’m authorising you to do what you want on my behalf’. What you actually want is sadly irrelevant. You want brexit. He/she probably thinks it’s not in your best interests and believes they are doing you a favour in trying to protect you from yourself. Or maybe just trying to protect their own interests.

    Time for a revolution brother!<laugh>

I’ve seen a few cherry picked people on TV news say they would like another vote and I keep hearing the remain politicians saying their constituents want another vote now knowing what they now know but they are the ones that voted remain in the first place.

Politicians are saying we need another vote, Remain vs Teresa Mays Deal knowing remainers will vote remain and Brexiteers are pissed off because Mays deals doesn’t go far enough and we’d prefer a no deal over Mays deal, they are totally ignoring millions who say leave with no deal, it’s all ****

Of course no one knew for certain. But out v in? We know what in looks like, no/one other than boris saying it’ll be great identified what out the realistic options for out would look like.

I’m not a labour voter... and yep That’s parliamentary democracy the people can vote them out into the ground at the next election if they blame them.

Be genuinely interesting what happens re civil unrest. You might be right. Are brits really the uprising type? Dunno, we like to vent our spleens on the internet and then reach for the remote. Most uprisings are driven by the young and disillusioned. Most of them voted remain. This’ll be like dad’s army. So don’t tell em your name pike.

You are aware that the country has had three civil wars between 1642-1651 where over 100,000 people died and there was the abolition of the monarchy.
