Don't know of 1 person who's changed their mind, and the mess is because,Corbyn and Labour have no intention of accepting anything, and never have, they are trying to get a general election and are prepared to screw the country to get one.

And you think Diane Abbott can't do maths.....

Labour MP's 262
Conservative MP's 317

It's the Tories who wanted a referendum, it's the Tories who negotiated the deal and it's the Tories who can't get the deal they negotiated past their own MPs.

Their fault, their ****show.

Obviously she taught you maths,60 or so out of 317 think everything passed in the Tory party.<doh>

Not like 260 voted against there own manifesto is it.

How hate speech has blown out of all proportion, but continues to be a dictatorship.

Just to save people the bother of 11 minutes based on the clickbait headline - they fail to mention that the claim actually came about because the journalist accused the mother of child abuse and not because of the misgendering.

No deal it is then, we’ll it would be if May and the others had any balls. I’m meeting more and more customers who voted remain but have been so pissed off with how Euro powers have bullied us they’d vote exit if there was another vote

Irrespective of what you voted for, and how much you do or dont hate the eu, I find this line of thinking hilarious. The EU haven’t bullied anyone. We wanted to leave a club. They can’t make life look better outside than inside. They have no choice. The only cast iron guarantee of brexit was we had to get a worse deal than eu membership would give us.

For leave to be an economic success we would have to cut deals elsewhere that trumped (pun intended) the EU losses. Whether the economy is a factor in your leave/remain choice is another issue.

Im a member of a gym with a pool and tennis courts. If I cancel my membership, I can hardly say, ‘i’m not going to use the gym because I don’t like that You’ve let too many steroid monkeys in... but do you mind if I still pop in with my speedos and racket when I feel like it?’

Add to that the fact that no one in the uk had a plan for brexit, not least the chancers and charlatans meant to be pulling the strings, you could hardly blame the eu negotiators if they just said ‘fck off have a hard brexit’. I’m sure they’d love to have done that were it not for the economic consequences to themselves. They have to look after their member interests.

On one side of the negotiating table you have a side that doesn’t want the uk to leave. On the other side you have a side that doesn’t want the uk to leave either but is obligated to make it happen. I’ve been in similar negotiations myself, you all know it’s bollox but your bosses say you have to go through the motions. What do you do... order another round of cappuccinos, hope someone remembers the muffins and hope everyone gets bored of the idea and it all goes away. That seems to be the plan. Or a better one than the actual one if there is one.

That’s one perspective. I have no love for Corbyn, that’s an understatement, But the other perspective is that Cameron screwed the country by arranging an ill thought through referendum, just to burst the UKIP bubble. Then forget to win it.

To be clear I have no fundamental issue with the concept of a referendum on the eu, other than the ridiculous reality that referenda are used for political leverage rather than genuinely trying to propose a democratic solution to an issue.

My beef with this particular one was asking people to make a choice without first defining and educating people on the parameters of the choice.

There was 2 choices out with whatever can or can't be negotiated,or remain.
We chose to leave with whatever can can be agreed upon, labour the snp and odd ones decided, they weren't happy and would work against democracy no matter what.If there was ever to be another vote,it should be out with no agreement,or out with an ageement.Remain isn't an option, already done that vote, you lost.

That’s okay, the petition runs for 6 months, we could be out before they have to debate it. Remember 16 million voted remain, those were adults who had to get off their arse and leave the house and vote. This is an online vote, you don’t need to leave your house, just click a button or two, you don’t even need to prove you’re of legal age.
dbc , 20/20 have signed it 50 thousand time each, Eric has signed it 80 thousand times and Brexit as **** all to do with him<laugh>

Serious question and honest answer only ;)

If the result of the vote was the other way, it had been remain and by a huge margin and there was another vote next week would you still go and vote knowing the first vote was a landslide in favour of remain?

Nothing personal but I’m finding the ones kicking up a lot of the fuss are those that never bothered voting first time around. Not saying you are Elland and I know you don’t post much political stuff but my step kids, their partners, none bothered voting now they want a second chance and they seem to be the ones wanting to vote remain.

Remainer politicians seem to be banking and relying on those who never voted as votes that would swing it should they get their own way for another referendum. Once again they’re not in tune with the public and how many remain voters who’ve been poisoned by the whole thing and who’d vote leave if there was another.

MPs and Euro MPs really under estimate the average Brit when it comes to thinking they can tell us what to do and force us into a corner.

You raise some interesting points here. One of them is you seem to be implying that would be remain voters couldn’t be a*sed to vote. I don’t know if that’s true but there is certainly an argument that a desire for change is a stronger motivator than a passive desire to keep the status Quo.

Given how close the vote was, does that indicate that there were more people who wanted to remain than leave? They were just lazy!

I never read / heard anything about the journalist accusing the mother of child abuse.

Do you have a video or a link that substantiates your claim?

I noticed you didn't want to defend the Catholic journalist after it was also mentioned Muslims were protesting LGBT lessons at Parkfield school......would you have a valid reason for not doing that?

By the way, the Law says if you were born male or female gender, then you are defined by the gender of which you were born.

There is something remarkable about the people who were convinced the U.K. held all the cards in a negotiation now claiming that the EU have bullied the U.K.

If the U.K. have been bullied, that’s because we have a very weak negotiating position.

The reality is the U.K. has embarrassed itself through pitiful Tory leadership. There was a perfectly obvious happy medium Brexit that could have been achieved, but the gross betrayal of the British people has been the Tories’ mismanagement of Brexit purely in order to keep their party together. They have betrayed both Leavers and Remainers alike.

The extreme progressive left ignore facts LL<ok>

Those wanting to remain elaborate on theories and scare mongering and lies because they personally have invested interests in Europe, much of it fuelled by those in Germany, France and Belgium because they know us leaving is going to hit them hard.

Us leaving and being better off down the line will set off a chain reaction, Greece, Spain, Portugal all saying look at the UK we’re jumping ship too.

If this country stuck together and all read from the same page we’d make it work, we’re our own worst enemy because we want democracy when it suits, big business who claim they’ll struggle if we leave really mean we’ll have to send the harder working cheap labour back home pay more wages and share holders will cry.

.

You’re Normally a pretty balanced poster in my opinion ristac but there are some sweeping generalisations here.

Those wanting to remain are scare mongering and telling lies because of vested interests. All of them? You don’t think some people just thought we’d be better off in the eu... and maybe they felt it promoted a more open society than being on the outside. Disagree on the choice by all means but questioning the motives?

Out of interest, do you think a campaign led by the gove’s and Johnson’s of this world exemplifies a paragon of dignified honesty and virtue?

Not really the point was it. I haven’t called for a second referendum and don’t recall bleating about the result.

My point was they needed to clarify the process and the potential repercussions. The electoral commission are big on making the question simple in referenda so everyone can understand it. The problem is making the question simple when the answer isn’t.

What we’ve witnessed in the last few years highlights that.

As for blaming this party or that party. Their self interests are as bad as each other but the reality is, the population voted for brexit, but there wasn’t wide spread support for it in parliament. That’s why we’re at where we’re at.

I wouldn't defend the catholic journalist nor would I defend the muslims protesting LGBT being mentioned in schools.

I certainly wouldn't rely on the far right to protect LGBT on any issues. They will happily use them to rail against muslims but then throw them under the bus at the first opportunity.

By the way, take a look at Gender Recognition Act 2004.

Yep and the far right put them in concentration camps and gassed them so you know that's why it's pretty much crocodile tears when it comes to their concerns of muslim treatment of gays

That's why they won't do the job they are paid to do, and is the will of the people, they are a remainer parliament
maybe we should get a load of Polish people in to do the jobs these British "workers" won't do, i'm sure they will be a lot cheaper as well, win, win all round<ok>
