In answer to your observations Doc, every club tries to gain a advantage throughout a game whether its going down at the slightest touch, blocking off an opposing player, grabbing shirts, pulling back, holding,( Leeds glory days under Revie was won by the same method), how much you get away with is down to the refs and linesmen/women, early on you test the boundaries and once you see they are weak(as on Sunday) you pull out all the tricks.
Cooper blocking off Murray was the usual jostling with Murray going down easily when he knew he wasn't going to get anywhere near the ball, a clever move as the corner just before Cooper was in the position that Pearce found himself in, so by going into the middle space was created for a clear header.
Ferguson cost us the penalty shootout as he would had taken the penalty that Romeo missed, Harris also cost us by making the substitutions to wind the clock down, all players that could had taken and scored a penalty.
We just shaded the game against a premiership side and were undone by a freak own-goal by our keeper who up until then had had a good game, I say own goal because had he left it it would had went wide or shaved the post.

Dont want to alarm anyone just yet, but some of you will know I've been posting about the problems at Bolton for the last couple of weeks. Today it was confirmed that the Basran consortium have officially pulled out, which means HMRC have a winding up order for tomoz.

One thing I didnt realise was that if in the unlikely event that Bolton cannot survive after Administration and get liquidated every result of Boltons gets wiped from the records. This means that us blunts and Norwich would all lose 6 points and WBA just 3.......

    Possible outcomes are:

    • Anderson reduces the price or pays the tax bill tomoz, somthat the club sale can go through and ending the winding up order.
    • Club sent into administration
    • Either the Basran consortium or Peter Kenyons will buy the club out of administration on the cheap after agreeing to pay the tax bill
One of the above is the probable outcome, however if it all goes Pete Tong and liquidation...

Just to cheer everyone up, Derby County owner Mel Morris is trying to sell the club for £1.

They are losing £3m per month and Fat Frankie will finish outside the play offs and lower than last seasons manager

Birmingham City could find out today that they will be given a 12 point deduction which puts them into the relegation mix. They have fallen foul of FFFP rules by overspending in 16/17 & 17/18 and need at least £18m in the next few months or will fall foul again in 18/19.

On top of that they bought a player whilst under a transfer embargo so the EFL have a sliding scale of punishment open to them which goes from 2 points deduction to 12 points and Birmingham are deemed as flagrant cheats so are expecting 12

Not sure the wba thing has any relevance to us. Way I see it we have to get past Sheffield for autos otherwise we’re guarantedd a play off spot anyway. Makes no difference whether that’s third or sixth place. If Brom got into second it would mean we’d have collapsed on run in anyway

Eire at the moment we are 6 points clear of WBA or 2 wins, but if Bolton get liquidated we will only be 3 points ahead of them which means they would join the dogfight for 2nd

As a birthday gift to our mate Shaks, can we have a whip round so that he can buy Derby County. He is even offering double the asking fee but wow having a mate in charge of a club will be great and I reckon he has big plans for improving revenue streams at Derby. Lap dancing, beauty pagents, paid access to view training without peeping through a fence. Why not pay a few quid and sit with Frank. Hurling on Sundays will be be massive..... is that chucking up? First press conference will be legendary, and to see him reply to a gobby journo will be to die for, seeing it now........ you shutyourfeckinghole or my boy will come and do ya <laugh> Fit and Proper test no worries, FFFP rules no worries as once he's spent his £2 on the club wont be much left to overspend on player transfers and wages. have a feeling the new Derby Board will be a lot of Shaks brothers in law <laugh> and can see him setting up his media arm 14Sports <cheers>
