Most people are decent mate and just want fairness in life. There's 5% of people that are ****s and will try it on, but I reckon if your lad offers to pay for a new wheel and maybe offers him a few beers as a goodwill gesture, this will all be forgotten about in a couple of weeks.
What I've learned from this whole experience so far it's that you lot are probably the finest legal minds on the planet and that cyclists are ****s.
You’re being far too generous there. What happens in cases like this, is often a half decent person gets some legal advice and then goes with the flow, as there’s cash at the end of the rainbow.
Well that's the danger of these 'No win, No fee' shysters. Encourages reasonable people to become litigious compensation seekers.
Piskie going all hippy on us ffs. The amount of **** that gets said and you're taking the moral high ground of luv ignoring some dopey cyclist twat
Calm down bru I'm just saying sort it amicably and avoid the risk of him ramping it up into some legal claim.
Hark at you getting all prickly about it. I don't feel bad for anybody in this situation, I don't know them. I'm just saying what I'd do which is sort it out amicably.
Genuine story here; a few years ago my Mrs was sat in her car with my toddler son and infant daughter. In front of her was a transit style van with cherry picker crane at the back, the type that BT engineer's use etc. Think it was BT actually. Anyway, the bloke in front puts the van in reverse and, without looking obviously, reverses at speed into the front of the car (Citroen C5 picasso FWIW). No one is hurt. The car is fairly ****ed though. Insurance decides to write off said car and offers money that would mean a significant loss against its value, as they do. She is suggested to claim by an accident chasing cold call and reluctantly explores the idea. She cant be arsed to be honest, doesn't think it's right, and decides not to bother but they pester her (and pester her some more) into going to the doctors etc. and getting a statement. Which she eventually does. She gets a couple of grand comp and my son gets the same, which he can have when he's 16 I think. This covers the shortfall in car value. What would you all have done?
