It's for this very reason I'm weirdly starting to lean towards Liverpool winning the league, rather than City winning four. I can't see City getting the chance to get all four again so if it doesn't happen this year, it won't happen. Liverpool would still be one behind us in leagues won. Truth is though, I still think City will ultimately fall short in the CL. They surely used up all their luck in 'beating' Swansea on Saturday.
The ****ers sat in silence until they equalised on Saturday. Absolute silence. A group of them outside sang a popular United song with the word City substituted in, as if because they were in South Wales no one would know. Very very original there. Fake ****s.
I'm still sticking to not wanting Livpl to win the league. I can't see City fighting it out on all fronts, something's got to give with the number of games stockpiling, and they've already looked tired in that bad patch they had. I can't see them getting both the CL and the title. They'll still have a treble if they win the FA Cup as well, but not THE treble.
It's possible, but that's a lot of games to play in 8 weeks. They've got good depth but the tightness of fight with Liverpool for the league will mean it'll be a big risk to rest a few.
Just to add, it will still be an achievement for City winning back to back titles. Their side last season was rated very highly, but I still don't believe you're considered one of the greatest unless you win it back to back. But maybe that's just me.
No mate, it's not just you. There were a lot spouting last year about City being the best the premier league has ever seen but that's just bollocks when compared against various teams to have defended their title (or a couple that have won three on the bounce!). Defending it at least adds some credence to this sides greatness.
Honestly, as a Liverpool fan, I think it's now or never for the league title. (Well not really or never). I think there will be much more competition next year at the very top. We have a great first XI but not a great lot of depth and I don't expect it to improve dramatically over the summer. I think we've been lucky with injuries and a slightly worse injury situation and we would not be challenging at the very top. United and Spurs should be stronger next year. City aren't going anywhere. The last few years they've been as good as any team I've seen. We can't count on Arse and Chelsea to have off years again although chances are someone at the top will have a bad season. If we don't win the title this year (and even if we do). I don't see us winning next year or in the next few years. After that, who knows, but we will have missed the peak of many of our current players. Next year could be very tough. It's important for Liverpool to win this season or it could be a long time until we do.
This is what happened to us about 2 seasons ago. It's a hard slog to be almost rans all the time...takes alot out of you mentally. Hence why we have been needing new players...fresh impetus
The mother of all bottle jobs is on...Spursy wouldn't do it justice. It will be very similar to when Lesta overturned a 4 point lead held by the Goonz in beating them to the title
If we're still in a fight for CL qualification then I'd expect nothing else. Right now though I see our treble not being bettered as more important than Liverpool getting another league. Best case scenario in all of this though is City simply don't win the CL, which is also the most probable.
Livpl do have previous form, 08-09 and 13-14. If they do it once more, they'll have their very own treble. It would give a new meaning to their "5 year plan"
