It was a dot on the card that as soon as all the Brexit lies and false promises proved undeliverable that the Brexiteers would start pointing fingers in all directions, except that of where the blame really lies - their own.

I'm sure Jacob Rees-Mogg saw some precedent from 1604 coming. Utique.

I'm sure he'll come back with an even older precedent dating back to the Witan council of the late Saxon period such as the one cited in Dumb and Dumber that you can't triple stamp a double stamp which supersedes all other laws.

If they decide to go for a Prorogation of Parliament, then there would have to be a subsequent reopening. This would be an opportunity to bring back another ancient custom from about the same time, 05th November 1605 to be precise. There wound need to be a slight change from the original plot obviously, in that if any of the plotters wanted to warn certain MP's not to be in parliament that day, all correspondence should be addressed to: Christopher Grayling MP. Such an action should ensure success.

Well, they have only had since 1604, 415 years to learn the facts. If they are that slow perhaps they should move aside and let someone else have a go.

Has anyone seen any figures for the UK trade balance
(surplus or deficit) on a WTO regime if all nations decide they
want to trade with the UK under WTO rules the moment the
    UK leaves the EU ??

I have seen figures of 6bn pa surplus bandied about for the
UK balance to the EU, but God knows what it is for the above
    scenario.

    This is terrible news.....
As it seemed that the sunny uplands were in sight with the signing of a trade deal with Norway, it turns out not be the case and that lovely Dr Fox was being less than honest.... Yes, really....
So our hopes all rest with Liechtenstein

But it does mean that in the event of no deal, essential supplies such as drugs for the NHS etc. could be sourced via Norway, albeit increasing the cost, so shortages are unlikely.
