Is it just me who thinks there's something seriously dodgy about the fact that almost every club Harry Redknapp has managed has ended up facing punishment for some financial issues:

Managed Bournemouth till 1992 - they went into administration in the 2000's - but I know someone who is a director and he lays massive blame with Harry and his financial dealings with the club
West ham 19994-2001 - massive issues with money and only just staved off administration
Portsmouth (twice) - Administration in 2012
    Southampton - Administration in 2009
    Birmingham City - Now!

Surely this can't all just be coincidence? Almost every club he's managed has ended up in adminstration or being punished for some dodgy financial dealings - Birmingham were paying players more than they were being offered in the Premier league when he was there!!

(Quiet Monday afternoon on the football front!!)

A manager isn’t responsible for the financial running of the club.

For sure, Redknapp has evidently done a good job of convincing owners to inverse, but it’s for them to make that step.

Bournemouth is a massive stretch, 8 years later? Come on man!

Portsmouth had a succession of madmen owning them, Birmingham have had a similar setup.

He’s not blameless, but no way can you say he’s responsible.

I for one would love to find him linked with all this maladministration as I can't stand the bent Cockney bastard.
he was linked with us in the recent past and I stated on here at the time that if he came then that was me finished with this club, fortunately it never happened.
I'm with you Marcus, there's no smoke without fire.

He's as bent as they come no doubt, but he's not and never has been the clubs accountant or financial director, so can't really lay the blame at his door as such.

I've got tickets for me and the father in law to see an evening with Harry Redknapp in May. Definitely a dodgy geezer, but his football stories are legendary.

I know he's not everyone's cup of tea, but I find him hilarious and very interesting

Which is why I always laid an element of blame with Quinn for the wage bill and wasted money under Bruce, the thing that triggered our financial troubles.

    Absolutely mate.

Great as Quinn was he chased a dream like an over enthusiastic child and could have closed us down.

All done with the best intentions of course but the business acumen of a bronze doorknob.

West Ham's financial problems were due to the board spending the transfer income on a shiney new stand, built by the Chairman's building company, rather than players to replace Rio and Frank.

Should that have not been done for material cost? Or did the chairman use your football club to make a mint?
