I've always had a sense of admiration for the French being prepared to set light to stuff to indicate that they've had enough of their government. Could we not set light to the cabinet?

We haven't had a Bill introduced to bring back burning at the stake during this Parliamentary session, so there may be some scope.

Of course there isn’t because we never will be. And the if you’re not gonna be better off, what’s the effing point of doing it.

And before anybody gives me any bollocks about the European superstate, it’s not gonna happen. There’s no appetite amongst the people of Europe for it. Quite the opposite in fact, if you look at what’s happening in Italy and in other places too.

The EU is ripe for change. A dumping of the old guard and some fresh thinking. We should be there at the forefront of that influencing those changes.

Is it beyond hope for this to be the outcome of this debacle?

Hope not, Luke. Like everything, the EU must either evolve or die.

Juncker is on his way out, hopefully more of the old guard too.

18 consecutive weekends of riots, destruction and civil unrest? I don't think so.

In other news, for the life of me I cannot think of any possible reason Esther McVey would suddenly decide to back the Dire Leader's deal...

In other news.... Government lsckies now blaming the EU and Bercow for this evenings omnishambles, forgetting that the legislation dates from 1604 and that the Speaker is only empowered in these circumstances where there is a minority government. Now who called that last election? <laugh>

Did that one a couple of pages back. On that basis it would only cost her 2 billion to get her deal through.

In other news IDS has just left No. 10 after having a meeting with Mrs May. Smells of revoking A50 and resigning to me, IDS as caretaker whilst new leader is elected.
