They aren’t but they revel in it. As a proportion of the fan base there’s no comparable team I know of.
They’re the original football hooligans. Not a great place to be an opposition fan in the 70’s and 80’s. I used to go with two Millwall supporting mates. I’ve seen some pretty nasty scenes.
Partly just a crap part of London albeit increasingly modernised and gentrified. Partly the rep attracts a certain type of person and creates a vicious cycle. Think it started with dockers back in the day who loved a tear up.
oh btw the picture yesterday was Burton Albion, it was the last game the Wall lad Mahlon Romeo played for us.
