Maths has never been my strong point, but I just spotted we are 21 points clear of 7th. Which means playoffs are a bare minimum for us now

So I bow to farke on playing McLean still.

I think he's realised a few games back that pukki is going through a clumsy clanger stage. He can see that pukkis work rate and assists are still needed, and not going to be replaced by Rhodes.

I assume he's seen McLean banging them in during training, and thought it's worth sacrificing a bit of middle field precision and magic in exchange for increasing the odds of converting our chances.

However, anyone know farkes philosophy on subs? Does he hate them?

Farke seems to believe that subs are solely designed for a manager to run down the clock

Yes, you're right - my calculation would only give us just over 90 points, which has been enough to earn an automatic place in several of the last few years.

    Or injury.

Maybe that's how he keeps the team spirit so strong. Tells the players as long as you keep winning I'll keep starting you. Subs can't moan, just need to sit and wait their chance.

PNE pushing for play-off spot. At home to both Leeds and Sheff beginning of April.

I’m sticking with my prediction, that IF we win at the Britannia on Easter Monday, then we’ll guarantee an automatic spot!! <ok> :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Edit - Just seen that we play our next 4 games in front of the Sky cameras!! <yikes>

54 points ahead of Ipswich :emoticon-0104-surpr

And Pukki has still scored more goals than their points total

    <laugh> <laugh> <laugh> <laugh> <laugh> <laugh> <laugh>

Just cast your minds back to September when they were above us in the league - Seems unbelievable now

Excellent article from Gary From today’s MFW - http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...-its-full-steam-ahead-for-the-finishing-line/
He discusses the inevitable changes to the squad for next season, whichever league we’re in. IMO, it’s unbelievable that the likes of Leitner etc aren’t in the starting 11, but as we’re still winning games against some tough opponents, then why should DF change it and according to PD's player ratings,(https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwi...-united-championship-player-ratings-1-5942125) McLean played a blinder. <yikes>

IF we make it to the PL, there will definitely be some players brought in, but where does that leave those currently relegated to ‘benchwarming’?? My guess is that at least some of them will be looking to move to a team where they will at least get the opportunity to play regularly.

I don't think we would need any midfielders, except maybe a Tetty type replacement. Solid Defensive enforcer type to compete with Trybull.

I think we'd need a back up RB, We have a back up LB now, which we haven't seen involved yet.

    Better competition for Krul.

I think we would need a couple of new strikers to compete with Pukki. Don't think Rhodes would stay, and don't think Srbeny is Championship standard, let alone Premiership quality. Morris hasn't played much Championship football so Prem would be a big ask.

I wonder if we could do with another pacey Hernandez type option for the wing, maybe with a bit better delivery.
