On this fine Sunday morning, yes I have had a sleep and the world feels a little better, which kind of depressive are you today?
Well we’ll find out come May whether it’s crap or not mystic meg. Let’s see if they win all their remaining fixtures and both avoid any nerves. Sheffield Utd are in a great run but they haven’t deserved anything from their last two games. Norwich have found a terrific habit of winning close games. Norwich have a gap and an easy looking run in. With the blunts it’s all to play for. I’m not suggesting they’ll cave in but I’d be surprised if their wasn’t a slip up or two along the way. Out of our hands now but in my view it will likely be back in them and probably back out of it before it’s done.
Yeh, They somehow failed to score with the 2 further shots on target they had after they’d scored with their first 2. Losing their touch.
I know he’s your love child and a future England star, but KP was at fault for the sending off and probably should have picked up the run of basham for the goal (so should Douglas) He got drawn to the ball when there was cover. He’s been great this year but not his best today. If cooper gets a 5?
Cooper was to blame if anyone and JFH put the blame solely on Douglas for not following Basham. Brown on the other hand said it was poor all round defending by the team and you can’t pick out one player. I’d have given the majority of our team 7 today, Cooper and Bamford 6 maybe Casilla too, he was way too far forward out of his area which caused panic in defence. Cooper did 2 or 3 heart in the mouth misplaced passes early on. Alioski or Pablo for our mom in my opinion but I’d put our lowest rated as Bamford and Cooper. We didn’t lose because of Coopers mistake or Casilla sending off, we lost because our attackers missed 3 or 4 great opportunities to score well before the mistake.
Yeh i saw what they said ristac. The goal was primarily cooper’s mess up, compounded by others one of which was Phillips. The sending off was a sliced pass by cooper badly miscontrolled by Phillips and a decision to take one for the team from Casilla. Poor all round but some are blasting cooper, when Phillips also contributed to both major defensive lapses today... and there were others. I’m not interested in the blame game, both coops and Phillips have been great this season, they’re in credit... and we’ve shared individual errors around the team since Christmas.
Phil Hay: https://www.yorkshireeveningpost.co...s-whites-fall-to-elland-road-defeat-1-9654704 Cooper 4/10 Bamford 5/10 Phillips 7/10 Guess you just saw it a bit different Milky, Cooper has been great but he had a very poor game today.
I think that's reasonable comment. To be perfectly honest, any score could have happened today. It prolly wasn't truly apparent on the telly, but the weather was absolutely atrocious. I sit halfway up the ESL on the halfway line & got soaked through for the first time in donkeys years. The wind kept changing direction & velocity with a vengeance. Players on both sides were being caught out with their control, passing & movement. Sometimes they'd strike the ball hard as the wind was blowing into them, only for the wind to drop immediately & the ball was over-hit. Other times, it was the opposite. Hugely unpredictable. And yet both teams persisted with high balls!
Yeh i saw Phil hay’s comments too... he has a bit of a thing for Kalvin. I’m not commenting on cooper’s performance, he clearly made mistakes today. I’m commenting that other’s did too. So tell me where i’m wrong... Did Phillips not make a hash up leading to the sending off? Should a defensive midfielder not assess when there is cover for the guy with posession and look around for a runner to pick up?
I could see the rain coming down and very early on Cooper seemed to under hit a cross field pass which got intercepted and I wondered if it was the wind, Sky commentary reported it as a mistake and I don’t recall them mentioning the wind but I did wonder. It’s a painful defeat because of who it is and what it did to the league positions but I felt we were far the better team, we had some lovely chances and that’s 4 good very good displays on the bounce. Sheffield United have kept the most clean sheets yet today we could and should have had maybe 3 goals? It wasn’t their defending that prevented them, just our poor finishing so in all to create the chances we did against a very well organised team and to dominate possession and starve them for the majority of the game we did okay.
