Obviously, we're all looking forward to seeing how Parker fit's into the centre of midfield, and whether or not Ade is going to score on his debut. Lawro has us down to lose, of course. But there's also Liverpool's game away at Stoke, which should, at last, be a good test of just how far they've improved, if at all. Naturally, we'll all be hoping they get thumped. I'm also keeping an eye on City against Wigan. Anything less than an absolute thrashing of Wigan will convince me that the wheels have already come off City's wagon And then there's Chelsea away to Sunderland, which is going to be a tough test for the Little Fulham side.
Although Lawro is a twat, and his bias towards the Pool unbelievable, he makes salient points in predicting our loss.
"Wolves have made a very good start to the season - I've liked what I've seen of them so far. But Tottenham, they have had a hell of a start haven't they? Their first game was cancelled, they got well beaten by Manchester United and were then taken apart by Manchester City last time out. The confidence in the camp can't be great. I'm just looking at Tottenham and I think they're groaning a little bit. It's not been a good start to the season and I really don't think Harry [Redknapp] got what he wanted from the transfer window at all. I just wonder if there's a little chink in his relationship with the chairman. Looking from the outside in you think if Tottenham had have sold Luka Modric for £40m, Harry could have gone out and bought three players - and Harry would have loved that, freshening the dressing room up nicely. All doesn't seem well with the Londoners right now, so I'll go with another win for Wolves." In bol, I think are the salient points. If confidence is high in the camp after two losses then there's something seriously psychologically wrong with our lads. Harry would've loved to have brought more players than he got in - he's admitted as much, and new players would freshened up the squad and the spirit of the dressing room had they been of the right calibre.
Sure, the lads would have been down after the two defeats, but both Parker and Adebayor coming into the squad will have done a lot to lift spirits. Ade, in particular, is a winner, and I'm sure he will motivate the lads. Also, with VDV out, we're sure to start with both Ade and Defoe in a 4-4-2 formation, Parker & Modric bossing midfield. I'm looking for the lads to bounce back and give Wolves the kicking that has long since been coming from us
The international break has given the players plenty of time to get over the first two results. As for 'Arry wanting more coming in than going out, looking at our 25 man squad, only Alnwick is in there for the sake of it, I'd say the rest of them are worthy of a squad place and other than Cahill, I can't think of anyone else we could've realistically got that would've significantly improved our squad.
Jones & Young? Those were two of the players Harrys named, not taking into account Man U getting them, IF we would've signed them up do you not think that they would've improved our squad?
Of course and if Man Utd weren't interested then they might have been realistic options. It remains to be seen whether Young will be able to maintain his form though, it's very early days and he often goes through patches of excellent form, followed up by a couple of months where he's annonymous.
