They certainly do not represent the majority in Northern Ireland. 500,000 voted for other parties as opposed to less than 300,000 for the DUP. The Tory party blew the last election, and cannot govern without buying the DUP vote, and we can see how without their support your Brexit is a failed project.

 

How can they be doing their best for their constituents when Northern Ireland voted to remain ? Or is that another one of those question which you choose to ignore ?

It has certainly been said that the EU has required multiple votes until they get the answer they want. It has been one of the things that those on the leave side have often quoted as a critical reason why the UK should leave. It rather flies in the leavers faces when the UK government keeps asking for the same thing. Big difference of course is the EU have altered legislation to suit a countries problems with it, while this government has made no attempt to listen, and ploughs on just returning the same failed motion.

 

They have the intelligence to realise the referendum covered the whole of the United Kingdom. Its a pity others fail to comprehend this.

 

Under FPTP they are the majority choice which is why they are so important to NI.

 

A Brexiteer UK MEP posted this yesterday. She is not very happy as she can see that the PM is stitching the public up.

 

Everyone has the right to their views and political positions. Something you fail to accept, falling back on a very limited view of democracy.
I myself prefer a consensus and collaborative approach to government which is more embracing for more people rather than the I win you lose elitism currently on offer in this failed democracy

Everyone has a right but must respect the rules of the referendum as laid down by the UK parliament. It is ridiculous to suggest parts of the UK can have a different policy just because they lost.

 

NI shouldn't even be part of the UK.

 

As somebody who respects the results of referendums I would obviously accept NI leaving the UK if the majority in NI voted for it. Much of the shenanigans over the backstop was the result of the ROI using political means to further their unification aims.

 

What are you talking about? The ROI have no desire at present to take on that backward area of the island. They have said it numerous times, but you still believe it. I suggest you change your reading material.

 

If course they can.. There is no requirement that we all accede to an act of parliament or government.. It is a human right. For example to me the UN declaration of human rights supercedes a UK referendum. Etc etc. Nothing is fixed in perpetuity

It is obvious to most that knows anything about Irish history a united Ireland still remains the priority for Irish politicians. With the forthcoming EU interference in Irish tax affairs Ireland may well decide to join the UK out of thew control of Brussels.

Any individual or group can express their views.. There is no law that anyone other than parliament has had to follow as of now
Even then anyone can disagree with and protest any law.

So you now agree it is not possible for parts of the UK to have a different outcome of the referendum. Of course they are free to whinge, there is certainly plenty of that on here
