The RFU won’t support it and there would be hell to play from the clubs in The Championship who are chasing promotion to the Premiership - and there are already enough whispers of ring fencing the Premiership as it is. Expect law suits! Additionally, the WRU would not permit it.
The merger is off for the foreseeable future. The challenge is to agree a funding model that doesn’t favour the Turks. Palfrey claims the Turks are getting £1.6m more this season from the WRU than either the Blues or the Ospreys.

This after being told by the Union that the four players we had lined up to bolster the squad when internationals were away were not being allowed to join us.
