To be honest, I was expecting a relegation struggle or, at best, a similar position to where QPR are now. This has been amazing, but that just makes me all the more scared it's going to turn into dust, a mirage in the desert. I know, I'm a snowflake.
Looking at the fixture list, I can’t help but feel that actually we’d quite like to see Blades win. Even though that seems to defy logic on the gap to third point. Leeds just feel like the team who are more likely to slip up randomly whereas Sheffield U are fairly relentless and consistent. Plus, if we beat Rotherham, that leaves both teams more than a win behind us. Four points to make up in eight games.
Who knows if a Sheffield win would be good or bad for us? On paper, for me at least, they have the hardest run-in of the top three. And a defeat would pile almost unbearable pressure on Leeds. Whatever happens, we must beat Rotherham. Then it really would be in our own hands, 4 and 5 points clear of the chasers.
Oh my word! Jansson sent up front, and within seconds, he misses a golden chance! I was so sure that was a goal.
Both teams look better than us defensively. Neither seems a patch on us going forward. I know I'm often a bit negative, but one thing I am sure of - this season we have been the most entertaining team in the division by a long, long way. Other teams have done it occasionally - Leeds, West Brom, Villa, Forest - but no-one has done it as consistently as we have.
Leeds decision making in the final third is the only reason they are losing. They have wasted so many good opportunities.
I saw them do the same at Middlesbrough, but they did manage to grab a 1-1 draw out of that one (I think)
That 2-2 draw at home to Sheffield United is looking a pretty great result at the moment. Impressive to score 2 against them!
Oh dear - it does appear to be falling apart. Feel a bit sorry for them tbh. Much rather see Leeds up than Sheff Utd
Casilla off and banned. Leeds looking really low Jannson crocked in goal... Certainly an eventful second half!
