I'd assume as it's every four years the cl &el winner for that four year period would go? To be fair, they will work it so the eight biggest teams go, wether anybody pays attention is another matter.
But **** for the team that wins (CL / EL) in the first year, they're team won't be anything like the one that won come the tournament
Well that wouldn't work unless 8 different teams won those cups. In the last 4 years Real won the CL three times and Sevilla won the EL twice. So if we were to have it this summer (for example) there would only be 5 teams qualified by winning virtue. You'd have to do it on Coefficients, which again wouldn't really work as you'd get pretty much the same teams every time. I'd suggest some sort of scoring system over the 4 year period but even that wouldn't work, if it was based on European performance it give a leg up to the already established European super clubs, if it were based on domestic you give a bias to weak leagues where one or two clubs win every time. Frankly its a ****ing mess to a pointless tournament that European clubs really don't want.
