Martin Penney of MFW and his thoughts on our latest victory - http://norwichcity.myfootballwriter...nest-sweeper-keepers-and-the-final-countdown/
In my opinion, we shouldn't even consider a 20m bid. He is not just stunningly talented, but his attitude is great. He's going big places. I hope he has the sense to realise he could spend another year honing his skills with us, which would do him far more good than warming the bench at one of the top six, or having to adapt to life at a team like Palace or Watford. Going up is essential, though.
'Great article re the rockos - https://www.alongcomenorwich.com/articles/rogers-on-the-rockos 'Let me tell you about a rock. It’s a lovely rock. All smooth, grey and cold. Not sure where it is, but underneath it, reside smatterings of people who, despite the evidence, continue to scream numerous variations of GET RID OF IT when Tim Krul or our defenders have the ball at their feet in our final third. I feel for the people who live underneath the rock. Not only have they missed this wondrous season and the opportunity to witness clear and measured change in front of their very eyes, but even when they are let out for the night, the sheer disappointment of being top of the league and scoring three great goals just isn’t enough for them. They need more. And they are angry and need to let everyone know.'
Last season we had 'why can't we go back to the 4-4-2' and now we have 'just get rid of it'. Both are low percentage football. Possession football is high percentage and it's the reason we're top of the league when none of us expected that. It begins with Krul and the CBs and then up the pitch. Most of the time it works, occasionally it doesn't, like most things in football.
This from DF says it all: “Teemu is the best finisher in the league, for me, but against Hull he could have had more goals. Tom Trybull, there is a song about how he never gives the ball away. But he does once or twice. You get mistakes, you must accept them but we must have this unity. We need to stick together, as players and in the stadium. My feeling is the fans are outstanding so I can live with one or two times when they are frustrated.”
