6 points would be excellent but i would be happy with 4 points from them games and of course every game counts You don't win anything at the end it starts in the beginning of the season COME ON LFC
Your very, very right in saying these 2 games will tell us where we stand.Hopefully with both sides playin in Europa League, in the week in between the 2 games it may just cause both Spurs and Stoke to take there eyes of us a bit.Stoke are away to Kiev after us,and Spurs are away in Greece only 2 and half days before us Im also hoping the African Nations Cup , will have a negative effect on some of the big 6, with all sides barring us and United having to contribute 2/3 players
Had totally forgotten about this! Who would lose who?...am being lazy.... Chelsea and Arsenal used to be hit hard by this and still will I believe...
You missed my point completely. Management do think like this, if they didn't then Kenny would have told them all to just give up hope for the title after we drew the first match. We were on course for 38 points and relegation. Drawing the first match was disappointing, but it wasn't some statement about a whole season. Neither was winning the second. Individual matches should be played as if the season depended on it, but afterwards the one-off result doesn't define a whole year.
The difference between Spurs and Stoke is that Stoke are likely to give their all in the Europa whereas Spurs feel that it is beneath them now. Pathetic, overrated, overachieving Newcastle of the south. Even if they play a second string team, by the time they travel back from Greece, they will have less time prepping for our game than us which would be a major advantage that we have to capitalise on.
Spurs squad isn't as strong as it once was and I can see Modric pulling a moody and insisting his head isn't right and he can't play. In a way, he's like Spurs fans, the europa league is beneath him. Back to Spurs squad, they let something like 10 players go and brought 3 in, and none of them were a centre-back. I wonder how they get on when Greedybayor decides the same as Modric that the Europa league is beneath him.
Apologies if I misread. My original post stated that although not definitive, the next 2 results would be indicative of what we could expect for rest of season - win both and the current hype is probably justified, lose both and we are in for a tough battle for fourth........I'm not saying that the results would categorically define the season. As Kenny has said - 'the hard work starts here'
fair dos these types of articles just make me dread the ensuing end of the world predictions or near religious predictions of glory. Off the back of an away match or two.
Understand exactly where you are coming from.....this was definitely not the intention, quite the opposite in fact. ...those who make such predictions are also those who predict the end of the world when their sense of reality gets grounded.....I'm all for faith and loyalty, but not of the 'blind' variety!
No-one is cocky in this article and most acknowledge that the games are difficult which proved to be the case. Most people on this thread were hoping to pick up some points it didn't happen and Spurs have been congratulated for the way they played as were Stoke. Gloating is not an attractive trait.
I think that there was at least a bit of cockiness. To be fair to LD&C, he did post a very sincere sounding congratulatory post on the Spurs board after the game, though. KPR? Not so much. Not trying to rub the result in, but you have to see a bit of humour in this article.
If you say so: I've always quite liked Liverpool and their fans, and I know everyone is entitled to be upbeat towards their team and I've had no problem with 80% of the posts on this article. But some posts (See quotes above) deserve to mocked far more than a simple comment of "Best article ever" considering the belittling comments aimed towards us. Gloating may not be an attractive trait, but neither is complete lack of respect.
There are always some who can't help themselves but overall I think we respected that Spurs away would be difficult, the official match thread was ok. Your quote is from someone who doesn't often give credit to anyone.
What a post lol. Your target is 4th and it will be anything but easy. I would prepare for disappointment KPR if I was you if only to soften the blow when you finish miles off top spot. I am aware only you thinks like this though.
