Horse racing is cruel.

 

I know that Andy Gemmel (owner of Paisley Park). Been on the piss with him a few times, back in the day, the boy likes a beer and has a cracking sense of humour. Also hates Spurs with a vengeance, which is always a good thing.

Tomorrow is Clan Des Obeaux day btw.

Thanks to the above named Mr Gemmel, and the Skelton bros (2 handicaps), I can have egg and chips with my beans. Maybe even a sausage.

 

Santini had every chance to be fair but Clan Des Obeaux is an absolute dog.

 

Santini came up against a better horse on the day. Not sure what to make of CDO’s run today - tempted to say he didn’t get home in the ground, but he was off the bridle from the top of the hill.

Thought for a minute there, Mite Bite was going to get it all his own way and return to form.

Be interesting to see what OR the winner gets for that. Not sure if the race fell apart, or he blew them away. Haven’t watched it again yet.

 

The race fell apart, similar to the KG when CDO picked up the pieces after all the big guns misfired, it was Al Boum Photos turn today.

Easy to say now in hindsight but it wasn't a great renewal of the race, it was built up too much I think. From a punting point of view it was an open race, some decent odds around but severely lacking in quality, its not been a vintage year thats for sure.

 

Native River didn't get to the front early and never looked comfortable.

Presenting Percy isnt the second coming after all.

Clan Des Obeaux is a dog.

Thistlecrack is gone at the game, as is Might Bite.
