Ok, so may be the quietest thread in history, or not.

Anyone interested? I’m absolutely buzzing for it all starting again, the whole sport fascinates me.

The margins, the development, the sweeping changes as it goes by, just a ****ing great sport.

Season looks like a blinder, you’ve got the Ferrari looking superior, but they don’t have Lewis Hamilton, a criminally underrated British sportsman who is an absolute master and won’t get his fair credit till he’s retired.

Ricciardo going to Renault with a huge budget, Verstappen at Red Bull with the potential to break every record in the sport, young drivers at Ferrari, McLaren, Alfa racing team.

I’m gonna be watching all 3 session surrounded by cans as the missus is away skiing, anyone else into it?

No. Totally uninterested. But I wish you great enjoyment - you are obviously passionate about it.

Aye each to their own, not sure there’ll be much interest on here. None of my pals are into it, not a single ****ing one. Ha.

I used to be really into i around the time when Hamilton just started racing for McLaren.

Lost interest a bit due to the fact I dislike him enormous amounts (not doubting his ability which is phenomenal).

Used to love the games on the Xbox or PS2 - using the steering wheel and pedals were so much fun.

Think its one of those things where there is no middle , you can't just do a bit here and there and join in, keep up, occasionally. In totally, or not at all

I love Hamilton personally, can see why he’s a bit divisive but if I was him I’d have 3 times the arrogance. He’s another level only Verstappen has a touch ability wise.

You’re right Gelders, I think now you have to be fully into it, looking at the engines, the teams, strategies etc. It’s such a complicated and marginal sport and I ****ing love that.

Mind, I can see the Formula E coming, F1 as it is today may not exist at all in 2 years time.

Good man! I will be with you so keep an eye on this!

Literally anything could happen this year, I can see Renault closing the gap with their line up.

Still Lewis this year for me mind, the car/driver offset is still in his favour.

The only thing worth watching is them pulling away at the starting grid and the first lap or two, in the hope of a crash or two. Once the usual faster cars pull away I switch off. Whole thing a waste of petrol for me.

I mean, the starts are the biggest part as a spectacle, but the skill that goes into late breaking and overtaking on a tight corner at 200mph is incredible.

I’ve driven a car at that speed and I can tell you it’s like another world, it’s like driving in the ****ing matrix, these fellas are incredible.

Not denying there is enormous skill involved. But for me the skill/entertainment/cost ratios do not add up for me.

Exactly. I am really looking forward to it. I suspect Leclerc is going to oust our Vettel too. Well until he kicks up a stink and ensures, politically, he stays ahead.

I selected my fantasy F1 team and Renault feature heavily. I think they’ll be dark horses and have a very good driver line up.

Aye, taking Ricciardo was some statement, and they’ve got a **** ton of money for development they will score big, probably not early doors.

Agree on Le Clerc, for me Seb has always been ‘very good’ compared to Hamilton being great, CLC and Verstappen are the real deal, they are both going to be exceptional and it’s good that they are both in competitive cars. Seb may well spit his dummy like Ricciardo did with Max.

You get the feeling Honda more or less being a works team for Red Bull could be massive, they could shock and compete for titles this year, certainly after the break. It’s gonna be fascinating early doors.

Mercedes having Ocon as 3rd could be massive as well, not to be underestimated the input of the test drivers and he’s bang unlucky not to have a good seat himself anyway, likely replace Bottas next season and be very close to the top.

Yeah, i love it, in fact i'd go as far to say i would rather watch F1 than some footy matches. I watched it live a few years back in Milan, absolutely brilliant, but very expensive mind, it's certainly not a cheap sport to follow but i still love it. I also missed out on the Silverstone GP last year due to my rotation (working overseas) my son got us tickets but i had to cancel when the ****ers changed my rotation which meant i wasn't home for it :(

Still think it will be between Hamilton, Vettel and the cloggy this season.

I’d love to get to Singapore or Abu Dhabi for one, even Baku looks amazing.

    Spanish is more realistic.

Agree, will be one of the lead drivers from the top 3 teams, Max could do it if the Honda engine is there, even last season without 8 DNF for Ricciardo cos of the ****e engine RB could have done Ferrari.

Aye, was a shocker that. Really sad the timing as well.

He was a fantastic part of making the sport safer while keeping it faster and competitive, even the radio call ins won’t sound the same without the ‘Charlie is looking at it...’.

    RIP to the man.

Too many wheels, Motogp,WSB and BSB for me. Having said that, Motogp has gone corporate, probs WSB as well. I loved being able to walk round the pit areas before Bsb races and being able to talk to the riders.

    Each to his own though.

Anyone going to Oliver's Mount now they've got their licence again?
