I'm a Remainer but if we had to leave then we should have got in some competent people to do the deal. We sent a bunch of ****ing idiots led by someone who didn't believe in the thing in the first place.....and surprise, surprise we've been ****ed over. Whatever we do now is unlikely to make the next decade better.

Now,we've painted ourselves into a corner and there's very little of any good that come come out of this, no matter where we end up. Referendums are a bad idea as most people would vote for no income tax and free unicorns. Sufficient people voted for the biggest punt in political history and here we are......

I can't stand any of the ****ers involved in the negotiations, but I also don't see how they could've got a good deal.

Because they can't agree want they want, so how the fek could the EU give it to us?
Also, when the EU saw Mrs May in charge, they must have been rubbing their hands, a remainer? No way she will walk away for a no deal. The like of Bill Cash and even Jacob Sleeze Bag should have got their fingers out and gone to work. Put a deal together, then approached the EU. When the EU said no way, which they would have done, walk away and let the EU sweat. A No Deal brexit would be disaster for then. I think with that approach, with the right people, they would have offered us a half decent deal eventually.

What deal, though? What would they have conceded?
The UK already gets a bunch of concessions for being in the EU. I can't see what they'd give us for leaving.

As you say though, the Tories can't even agree on what they want, let alone the rest of parliament.
The Brexit supporting politicians should've been forced to come up with an acceptable deal before the referendum.
It was having having a general election where the options were Conservative or Not Conservative.

There is so much misunderstanding about the backstop, especially amongst leavers, who view it as the EU being deliberately intransigent.

The facts are that if the UK leaves the EU completely it immediately becomes a third country. At the same time the Irish border becomes an external border of the EU. As both sides agree that the border should be frictionless this presents a potential back door entry to the single market thus compromising its integrity and possibly threatening the whole concept.

As such the EU had no choice but to insist on measures to protect the integrity of its single market, and that these measures should be included in any agreement.

Hence what is known as the backstop.

They are voting on the Malthouse amendment tonight, which has a few issues, but could have been offered to the EU at the outset, with No Deal as a fall back. The EU wouldn't have liked it, but providing we had stayed poker faced and held our ground, they could have been made to like it.

I think May and Trump must be related.Tweedledumb and Tweedledickhead.

The latest one.... Boeing, because of this new plane crashing, were working on replacements to the planes computers (they think it's a computer hitch ((HAL?)).When Trump shut down the government,it also shut down the work on the computers.
I tell you. When Trump opens his mouth,Ivana should be standing there with toilet paper to catch all the crap!

Tep, it's a bit late now, but done at the right time it could have forced their hand or at least formed the basis of an orderly departure. It certainly would have been better than going there and when asked what we wanted we said em...We don't really know.

I've been in meetings where nobody could agree, so the boss locked the door and said no one is leaving until we reach a consensus. You can stay here all night if you want, all day tomorrow as well. It's amazing how that persuades people to focus. Perhaps they should try that.

As deedub indicated, we didn't go in with any demands, so they gave us what they thought of. If we'd set the agendas.....but we didn't.

That **** wit David Davies completely screwed the pooch and now there's no coming back from it but saying a better outcome wasn't possible is letting the ****ers off the hook.

Paul Manafort got some reasonably good news today, being given a 73 month sentence to go with his other one of 47 months.
Given that he was facing over 30 years for the two groups of crimes, that's not too bad. Out in about six years, maybe?
Unfortunately he then received some bad news, as the state of New York has charged him with an additional 16 felonies! <laugh>

Isn't it about time Trump built a 5 star prison for all of his mates? Complete with golf course, heated swimming pool, cocktail bar and a selection of restaurants. He could add a helicopter landing pad for any one who wanted to nip home for the weekend and and brothel for entertainment. You never know, he might have need of it himself sometime soon.

Given the small detail of Mar A Lago being implicated in a sex trafficking ring, why not cut out the middle man and make that a penal colony?

126 cells and Trump already has private quarters there, perfect, he obviously thought of it before I did.

Brexit has gone Spursey. It is out of our hands now,it's up to the EU. It will only take one EU country to object to an extension, then 29 March is the crunch day. Options are accept Mays deal or Revoke A50. The vote today is non binding because another act of parliament is needed to change the last one (didn't anyone think of passing an enabling act?), so in the event that we have no extension and if we decide not to revoke A50, the law says that at 23:00 on 29th March we leave with no deal if Mays deal is not agreed. This one still has a long way to run. I wouldn't put it past the EU to try to force our hand, because they know there is a majority in Parliament anti Clean Brexit. Any of the other two solutions they would be happy with. The clusterfuck has just got more clustered.:)
