The key word in there is if a refund is due. They'll argue it isn't, therefore give you only a credit in most cases.
Maybe that’s what I was thinking. I’m sure we’ve had this issue with something bought for one of the kids.
He might well have bought them out, not really sure. They still operate with the same MO though, they sell actual walking/climbing gear instead of one brand in a tatty sports warehouse, as Sports Direct do. You'd get range and choice at Blacks. You get Karrimor and **** all else at SD in their 'outdoor' section.
Hurt my back about 3 weeks ago, doesn’t seem to be healing very well but it held out today, did a few sets of rack pulls and dead’s and it seems ok so I’ll plod on.
Back in the gym later today, I've had any routine disrupted by some recent events and I've also piled a bit of weight on as a result. Last week only managed a good, proper session on Tuesday and a Wednesday lunch time run. This week will be likewise, but I should also get a proper sesh in on Thursday. Spent way too much time driving up and down Britain's motorways of late.
Place I go has been extended, opened last week. As a result, the main bit is now busier than ever ffs. How's that work then? Anyway, went in yesterday evening, walked round both areas twice and couldn't get on anything. Was about to give up and go and a treadmill came up. Did 3.5 miles, comfortably which is promising, and then managed to get on a bench to do some of this 5x5 stuff. Flat bench barbell, inclined dumbbell, decline bar bell. Totally ****ed by the end. Tweaked something in my shoulder blade area though, very ****ing irritating. Going for a little two miler at dinner (lunch) time. I'm a full stone heavier than I was at the start of December and it's time to sort it out, the holiday the other week topped up any inroads I'd made.
I’m feeling pretty good and working out every weekday in the gym at my office. Only problem with it is the free weights are relatively light (30kg max) which limits what I can do with a basic chest/shoulder press. Any suggestions on good exercises with relatively small weights? There are the standard machines too and the cable pulley thing I do weighted rows with.
Get a broom. Stick it between two chairs and ask two equally weighted colleagues to sit on the chairs. You've made yourself a handy office barbell.
I used to get the pinched nerve in my rhomboid area a lot, from bench. To stop it happening I just stopped dropping the barbell as low on chest eccentric. It stops everything in the upper back being crunched together too much. The last couple of inches on chest eccentric are practically worthless anyway, and put more strain on your shoulder/rotator than your chest. Plus it stops you cheating by bouncing the bar bell off your chest to get some momentum.
Slow your tempo is always a good way to utilise smaller weights. You’re ****ed if you’re looking for strength gains but in terms of getting mass/definition 30kg is more than enough for most folk, I could kill my shoulders with 2x15kg db’s or a 30kg bb. Pick up 2 x 10kg db’s and try lat raises 1.5 reps per rep. Basically full lift up to 90 degrees (to your body), lower back down to 45 degrees, then back up to 90, then all the way down to 0. If you can do 3 sets of 10 on that then you’re gonna need a new gym. If you apply this same method to other muscle groups you’ll soon find 20kg-30kg is more than enough.
New walking boots delivered and fitted perfectly. Pro's and Con's; Pro's - much lighter than i expected, which is great, it was probably one of my concerns but a very comfortable fit. Was easy to order online, better than wandering round a ****ty shop (SD) trying to find exactly what you are looking for and the size. Was well packaged, not OTT, also product was undamaged. No complaints whatsoever. Con's - i took on board other people's views on SD's refund policy, and although i had no problems this time, it did make me think, what if i did, so might make me apprehensive about using them again, because when i shop online i want hassle free. In regards to the boots, i did note the last two lace holds at the top of the boots, were more hooks than loops. Not a problem from a fitting perspective, but makes me wonder how they will hold up over the test of time. Just a minor detail, but one that caught my attention, rather than being an actual con. Now i'm off to climb the mountains of Gillingham
That's standard for walking/climbing boots - easy to get on and off when your hands are frozen or encased in mittens etc.
Right i've got 3 months at Maplins. My aim is to add 2 stone in that time, before returning to my my depot, where i'll soon lose that sadly. So best foods for putting it on? I might aswell use this time to try and put some on, cos it's like Hi di hi, where i am now.
