I won £80 in total yesterday, including a 9/2 winner at Sedgefield.

25% of the cost towards a decent suit :emoticon-0148-yes:

Why are you bothered? The reason the attendance was so low was because people, like you, didn't attend. You can't complain about the attendance when you didn't go. Your non attendance at Charlton home games has not and will not get Roland to sell.
You have every right not to go, if that is what you want to do, but please stop going on about people who attend as apologists. It is all very hackneyed.
The game against Portsmouth was an excellent match played out in a passionate atmosphere. How would you know otherwise, you weren't there.

What makes you think that relegation will be inevitable? Without wishing to sound like SR, let us see where we are in the Summer.

Relegation will be inevitable because even if Charlton win promotion this season the budget will be cut further, not increased.

Roland has only one objective now - to cut losses to zero.
He cannot do that, and make Charlton competitive in the Championship. So he will just ignore the fact that the team is in the Championship, and continue to cut costs as if the Club had never been promoted.

If the 2019-20 season budget is smaller than this season's budget, no manager will be able to build a competitive Championship squad.
It will be a miracle if the team holds itself above the relegation zone for even two or three months.

The only thing I have found in Football is that nothing is enevitible. Who would have thought that Luton would be sitting at the top of League one after being promoted from League two. It will be very hard IF we get promoted to be competitive in the Championship, but not impossible.

    I hope you're right DickPlumb.

I would bet real money that Charlton will be relegated from the Championship next season if RD is the owner from start to finish, but on principle I won't bet on my own team to lose (whether that be an individual game or status in a division).

I am highlighting the low gate, certainly not complaining Mr Plumb, quite frankly I wish it was a lot earlier.

With regards to the apologist comment, there is no right or wrong in people going, BUT I am at a loss as to people giving money to guy who is destroying the club. It is like going for a beer with a geezer who is shagging your missus.

My chums were there told me about the atmosphere.

Since when have people gone to football because of an owner , most are sharks out for themselves, it’s about being a fan and I certainly wouldn’t want to be missing this team play and a detached old fart like RD won’t stop me .

There is a principal here bummie, please understand my reasoning even though you do not agree.

As an aside, I have always groundhopped non-league and thoroughly enjoy it.

If Dushitelet sells the club but still retains The Valley in part I will still not go. It is not about me being a martyr or any **** like that, there is a principal.

I'll see you in the Bricklayers at the play-off semis, I'll buy you a half and put you right on a few things. Mines a Whitstable Bay Blonde.

Elfs is taking a stand based on his principles.

I never stop bellyaching about Roland, and what he's done has greatly reduced my enjoyment of watching Charlton. But in the end I have not decided to boycott, or even stop buying my season ticket. The choice of what to do about the current ownership at the Club is for every individual fan.
Personally I've decided to carry on going when I can, but I'm not going to pretend I'm not bothered at all.

The three of us have very different positions on Duchatelet's Charlton, but we are all still fans.
I think we do have respect for each other, even if we pretend we don't.

Ok look I don’t want to keep barebacking you, but no one is giving RD money , he is losing a fortune , this myth that we are putting money in his pockets is so naive.
The money paid for the ticket contributes a tiny amount to players wages and running the club .
He isn’t running off into the sunset with anyone’s pancakes

Don't annoy me bummie, I'll get angry. Just bloody agree that he is getting money from a match ticket.

Not trying to wind you up big man just giving my honest assessment of the situation.
Being a Charlton fan since the 70's I have seen mostly dire football, and a decent team comes around not that often.
This is a team that has a bond with the fans and you are missing out on something positive
I just hope you don't regret that because I can't imagine Witton vs Bamber lives long in the memory
