Why so mealy-mouthed? Why can't you bring yourself to say he's an anti-Semite?

Perhaps because you know he isn't.

I said he has a problem with jews and he does. You love him so there's no point discussing this with you.

In 2013 Corbyn said ‘Zionists have no sense of English irony despite having lived here all their lives’. He claims that he was using Zionists in the strict political sense rather than as a euphemism for Jews, but people aren’t born with a political ideology like Zionism. Even Corbyn wasn’t born a socialist. At best this was lazy thinking (and just a stupid and nasty thing to say) at worst it was anti Semitic. I’m not sure which.

I met him once, or was in the same place as him, the Queens Hotel in Crouch End in 1983, before he was elected to Parliament, when he was part of the Hornsey Labour Party. Just a typical dim agitprop ignorant Trotskyist who never bothered to understand the theory in those days, and I don’t think much has changed (I have no evidence, it’s just an opinion). He was distributing a paper called London Labour Briefing which he wrote for, specifically on opposing the expulsion of the Trotskyist entryist Militant faction from Labour, and which later supported the IRA Brighton bombing of the Tory Conference. He might be nice to your face, he is a politician after all.

I didn't know about this. Much better getting Leave/Remain Tories together with the DUP. Just need to get rid of May.

Why are you looking for it? He put it forward as a fact and has not had the decency to admit that he got it wrong. Leave it to him to back up his assertions.

Because my education taught me to research the facts behind statements of opinion presented as facts before mocking them. It actually makes the mockery more enjoyable.

Why are you so keen on telling me how to spend my time, that’s twice today? None of this stuff upsets me or raises my blood pressure (or at least not on here, where nobody’s opinion makes any difference anyway) it’s just a way to idle away my empty hours.

Oh **** I’ve just had a couple of likes from Goldie and Ellers. I’ll have to delete that post, obviously.

People rarely admit that they have an unpleasant belief. An old family friend of mine (one of my father's friends) is one of the nicest men I have ever met. It wasn't until I sat down with him waiting for his children to return from the cinema that he began to tell me the great truth to help me as I started out in my independent adult life. He then came out with the most highly developed world wide Jewish conspiracy theory I have ever heard. I have heard on many occasions someone explain they don't like/trust/believe people who are different. It always ends with the sentence. "But I'm not prejudiced / a racist/bigot." They do that to justify themselves to others. So forgive me if I don't rely on the fact that he may be very nice to be with and may not have admitted in public that he has a problem with Jews.

Don't think I've missed any point. They don't want it and neither do we. You raised it as a consequence of having to extend Article 50. But that's what you get when you believe that Brexiteers have the right to vote against a deal they don't like but everybody else is to be criticised for doing the same.

Bloody hell I am glad there are a few sensible posts re Jezza and his problem with Jews. <applause>
Recently while listening to LBC they had this fab Jewish woman on who was discussing Israel, anti-semitism and she said that Corbyn had a jewish problem and gave many examples...however because I wasn't fully listening I missed the juicy bits. I believe she said she had a book out and confirmed that jewish people that worked closely with him had problems. I may do a search and see if they still have the show.

That’s really strange Ellers ‘cos usually you listen so intently and love to put up about the latest phone in you heard ‘on the radio’...........

I read an article recently (from a few years back) where an old school friend of Nige wanted to tell everyone about his antics when he was younger and how he sang ‘gas ‘em all, gas ‘em all’ about jews and was proud of his NF initials......truly shocking I thought.
    What’s your thoughts mate ?

I was reading an essay on anti-semitism tonight and I didn't make it past page 3 before reading this... and Staines reckons Corbyn doesn't have a problem with Jews? <doh> It runs through all his mates as well!

In early 2016, Ken Livingstone – a more prominent member of that group and a long-term ally of Corbyn – publicly claimed that Adolf Hitler had supported Zionism (Fisher, 2016a), and it was revealed that Jackie Walker, the then vice- chair of the pro-Corbyn campaigning organisation, Momentum and the partner of one of Corbyn’s closest friends, had described Jews as ‘major financiers of the slave trade’ (Fisher, 2016b). In 2017, a vast pro-Corbyn banner was erected that attacked a rival politician by depicting her wearing Star of David earrings (Yong, 2017), and a Labour Conference fringe meeting heard calls to expel the Jewish Labour Movement and permit debate on ‘the Holocaust, yes or no’ (Morris, 2017: 8), prompting the UK Equality and Human Rights Commission to announce that ‘the Labour Party needs to do more to establish that it is not a racist party’ (Hilsenrath, 2017: n.p.). In 2018, independent researcher David Collier (2018) published evidence showing that Corbyn had been an active member of a secret Facebook group that promoted Holocaust denial and antisemitic conspiracy theories (although he was not one of the individuals posting such material there), and a former Chief Rabbi stated that he would not hold discussions with Corbyn until he saw ‘clearer signs of resolute action by [the] party

    Happy now Staines?

I met him a couple of times in the 90s at Union seminars at Congress House, his speeches were dull as ditchwater and he was just another typical scruffy stereotype leftie saying all the things his 'comrades' wanted to hear. If you'd said to anyone at the time he was a potential Prime Minister everyone would have been rolling on the floor laughing. It always amuses me when I see him suited and booted these days, it really isn't him...

He may have got on well with May and the Tories especially after the Windrush scandal.
A scruffy lefty who has denied any hatred of Jewish folk over an old witch who deported blacks and openly created a hostile environment that helped rebuild this country. I know who I would prefer. Now my Grandad, God rest his soul was similar to your old man.

Don’t know how to link articles Ellers but a simple google search should do you.
Independent article from 11August 2016.....absolutely shocking what Nigel was up to....even his teacher was disturbed at his actions.
Any comments ? Or was it just a smear against the ‘man of the people’.....
