Transfer fee doesn't come into it for me nor the wages, I judge a player on merit regardless of the money involved and want every one of them to do well for ITFC, but not every player brought in to any Club works out and a large transfer fee plus wages doesn't guarantee success.

Must say this line up really worries the pants into me but it's a shake up and you never know someone may take their chance - thinking of you Dozzell / Emmanuel / Nsiala +Kenlock!

Be amazed if we got anything tonight with this team but you never know.

Very painful to watch first half, no shortage of commitment but holes everywhere. Men against boys.

Emmanuel and Nsiala look scared, rabbit in headlights. What on Earth has happened to Dozzell this season?

Did exceptionally well to chase down the 'keeper in the first minute, contributed well and had a couple of half chances. A lot of energy and good play in attacking areas but not many clear cut chances for Town.

    Jury still out.

What's undone us tonight is really poor defending of high balls on more than one occasion.

Another decent display from us, not outstanding by any stretch but we looked the more likely to go on and win it.
Chalobah was decent as was Edwards, Bishop when he came on. Looking good for next season if we can keep this up.

Looked panicky in defence, Emmanuel and Nsiala didn’t cover themselves in glory, but first starts for quite some time, so possibly to be expected. Kenlock did okay, I thought, defensively suspect but did well to craft our equaliser. Chambers effective in defence, but his distribution remains a concern. Almost handed them the winner in injury time with a horribly misplaced pass when we were building momentum.

Midfield looked solid enough, the one area where I thought we were noticeably better than Bristol City. I know Chalobah isn’t everybody’s favourite, but put him in a team like Derby or a promotion chasing Championship side, and I think he’ll thrive and really excel. Nolan quite tidy, Judge frustratingly peripheral, and Dozzell quite poor. Bishop looked bright once again, when he came on. Edwards had a decent game.

Jackson has pace to burn, but does not look composed in front of goal. Offered very little, but for the sake of forward planning, I’d prefer either him or Harrison starting ahead of Quaner.

My mates the most unbiased Bristol City fan who usually reads the game well, he described Jackson as “ a pacy headless chicken who cannot time runs at all well “

Good point that, how did Emmanuel play?

How about the second half debutant?

Bit harsh on Jackson, but not far off the mark.
Emmanuel? Couple of decent bursts in the first 20, after that, useless and very poor. They were definitely targeting our full backs, Kenlock was also poor, and if their wide men were any better, they wouldve had more of a field day.
City, were so poor it made a mockery of their position in the play offs.
We've played better before, but we were still the better side....usual problems, just no one to score

Also, wasnt Judge's best game for us.
Bishop, if he stays fit will tear L1 up, looks positive and quality bursting forward

Im sorry, not having that. He didn’t get a decent chance in the box but his link up play was excellent and he gave their keeper and defenders a nightmare resulting in us continuously winning back possession. That said it’s goals he needs and will be judged on.

Emmanuel was at best clumsy, Chambers had to clean up for him a couple of times.

Didn’t really see anything much of the debutant.

Fair enough didn't see a single minute not even seen the highlights yet - see if he gets another go v Forest ( suspect he will ) or if Harrison gets a go.

Didn't even realise Harrison was on the bench last night, pleased he's back.

The last thing we need is another Danny Haynes, lightning fast but no awareness, positional sense, or passing ability gets us nowhere so if he's not able to do his primary task of scoring goals get rid.

Was a decent watch, but so much of it was also incredibly frustrating. Players taking the wrong option or miscontrolling and panicking and just shows the lack of quality and/or confidence to do the right things consistently.

I think the criticism of Emmanuel is justified, but as it's his first game in a very long time I think he did enough to show he's worth persisting with (and a place in the squad next season) same goes for Nsiala who has been overlooked for Pennington & Knudsen most of the season (probably rightly so) but other than the goal & a couple of minor positioning errors he looked solid enough defensively. Kenlock I thought was decent, particularly when in possession (yes he gave the ball away a couple of times) but he was always an option and always looked to be positive.. In fact he probably saw as much of the ball as anyone in the 2nd half.

Jackson looked ok at times, but it was noticeable that when we pressed their back 4 into playing long they had forwards who were better equipped at holding the ball up (or at least competing for headers) something Jackson doesn't seem to have in his locker, when the ball was played into his feet he looked a bit better, but still needs to work on that touch

Overall it was two pretty average sides playing out an average game with only flashes of real quality on display from either side..

We need to factor in that some of these lads will be feeling embarrassment and fear and like eyes are on them waiting for a mistake.

When the opposition is coming onto us we always look like conceding but when we have the ball we are playing some good football from back to front now.

I do not think when it breaks down it’s lack of quality, I think it’s simply a lack of swagger.

And by the way the contrast between the two keepers last night was stark. Whether it’s Bart or Gerken or Wright in the jersey, if we can keep those options next season we are always going to give ourselves a chance in games.

I see Jackson as a player who will get most of his success in around the six yard box or getting in behind. There was one near ideal moment when he was marginally offside, if we could get him in like that three or four times in a match I think he would be scoring a hatful. But simply we are not building our play up to that and instead Edwards can be a danger in any situation in and around the 18 yard box.
