It's full of contradictions. Here's another one - the likes of Bernard Jenkin (double digit IQ) and Francois keep banging on about 17.4m leave voters and a No Deal. But you speak to virtually every Leave Voter who works in lamb and beef farming or car manufacturing, they all say hell no we don't want a No Deal, we'll get slammed with tarrifs on our export meat making it completely noncompetitive, we won't be able to bring in car parts and the whole process of exporting cars to the mainland will become a nightmare. Weren't these people part of the 17.4m? Which makes a mockery of the 52%.
seems Tories who said they'd voted for it went through the other door for their own careers. defeat likely to be over 200. utter waste of time.
she must resign but won't. only event now is can she even get past the no deal vote. once the parliament decides it was nuts originally to pass a law that said they'd leave with no deal they have no options.
she's only gone and set up the fact that the vote tomorrow doesn't break the binding we leave without a deal.
Theresa May gives a free vote to the Tories on tomorrow's No Deal vote BECAUSE SHE HERSELF does NOT want a No Deal and what she's saying is therefore she cannot apply the whip for doing so. That tells you what she will pushes for now, it's an extension. She's even suggested a SECOND REFERENDUM. Unlucky Brexiteers!
No deal will be voted down tomorrow & then the A50 extension vote will pass on Thursday, in which case she’ll arrange that with the EU and the make the necessary changes to the Withdrawal Act.
Her saying that parliament may want to consider a second referendum is a massive shift from her. Could there be any momentum here?
well.... I dunno. she's admitted she cant hold the Tories tomorrow with her free vote. so that's got to be a no to no deal. but the next day? who knows. then there will be another legislation to be passed to actually give effect it extension which could fail for all we know.
tbh listening the shouts for referendum were loud bit the cat calls back were not that impressive.... methinks they are all going oh **** pretty soon we will actually have to do something.
If that is the way she's shifting, if she's making it clear she's against a No Deal, even if it's to extend A50, then she should stay PM.
If they vote down the extension the default position is no deal, so you’d have to have the brains of a rocking horse to vote against both no deal and the extension. It’ll therefore pass. We’re heading for a second vote here she even mentioned it as being a possibility, which she’s refused to do before, no deal is now the rank outsider.
May has bent over to please the ERG and they continuously fcked her up the jacksy. Listening again to that speech after the vote, once her deal was dead that was pure politics from her. A woman scorned as they say...
I agree, if they’d have backed her she’d have likely won irrespective of the DUP. They were looking for reasons to vote it down, as their aim is an ideologically ‘pure’ Brexit i.e. no deal. That’s effectively finished her & I think she’s defo one to bear a grudge.
Tbf she was a remainer to begin with. Now she's done her bit, she can shrug her shoulders and direct this all elsewhere while she still has any power. She knows her days are numbered anyway so there's nobody she has to worry about. After this she resigns and fcks off to the Lords so not even her constituency. The ERG look like they didn't think about that
