Saw the Prodigy live when they supported Oasis at Knebworth. They were absolutely outstanding. Rest In Peace Keith Flint
One of my favourite bands in the 1990s when I was an impressionable young lad. Saw them live at Manchester G-Mex in 1997. RIP Keith, and thanks for all the entertainment back then.
One of the first dance bands (possibly the first) to really make the indie crossover. Out of Space, Everybody in the Place and Hyperspeed would pack out the dancefloor on the indie nights at Silhouette on a Tuesday or Welly on a Thursday before you'd hear anything else of that ilk there. Experience is still one of my favourite albums. Very sad news this. RIP Keith. Can think of few images that sum up the 90s better than his Firestarter performance.
I didn’t expect to like the Prodigy as much as I did. As Richard said a true crossover band that united different genres of music. In terms of live music - probably one of the best I’ve ever seen. For me at Knebworth I think they even eclipsed the headline act. Pretty saddened by this.
He was a top bloke by all accounts. I used to have “Smack My Bitch Up” set as my ringtone for when Mrs B rang me. Keith Flint. RIP.
Saw them at Glastonbury in the ‘90s – was never a massive fan, found Firestarter annoying, but looking back, they were an interesting, credible and popular alternative to the moribund, unimaginative and repetitive Britpop domination that went way past its sell-by-date that decade. RIP Keith F.
I’m genuinely gutted about Keith Flint. Saw Prodigy a few years ago at Brid, they were unreal. Give ‘em hell, Keith.
Makes you realise you are getting on when the people your kids watched are passing away in their 70s. My two used to be glued to the TV when that was on.
Hal Blaine, drummer, 94. A lot of people may not have heard of him but they will have heard him. Was amazed to find out how many hits he had played on. Interesting what he said about the Byrds and not. Being credited with them and other bands in the days when the Monkees got stick for session musicians playing on their tracks. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hal_Blaine
