The old clock end at Highbury. Can you imagine how nuts the stewards would go today if people were trying to bunk in over the fences please log in to view this image
The 70's, was all rock n' roll back at the games then. That's Kevin Arnott bottom right for Sunderland and a young Shaun Elliott centre me thinks.. About 78 that, I would have been there..
I'm too young for it as you know but am pretty well researched on my stadiums and sadly some of the tragedies around them.
And this place, which was my church between 85-92 until the sad day that they pulled it down. please log in to view this image
We have Spuds like Dier Hard, then we have you. He goes to games, and knows his stuff, and is always a good read. Then we have you, you fat ****,
I remember it clearly. Bradford had been promoted and there was a ceremony before the game, loads of people were on the pitch and cheering initially when the stand went up in flames. I remember the reports on Grandstand at the time, the commentators voice just getting more and more anxious and agitated as the fire took hold.
Something like, "and I think there's a small fire in the corner of the west stand" the rest is history..
