It was quite funny. I was in my local on Saturday and there was a BS in there. I knew it was 0 - 2, and he checked on his phone. While I was still there, it went to 1 - 2. He said "You watch. Newcastle will win this 3 - 2".
You have the opposite effect to what I do when I attend pubs when we're playing . I remember being out in Jesmond when Liverpool won the CL. We changed boozers at half-time and walked past a scouser sitting on the stairs with his head in his hands, it certainly is a game of two halves like !
My Everton supporting mate walked into the pub at half time with a big grin on his face..... Not so happy at full time Although to be fair when it went to 2-1 he did say "we'll lose this 3-2 now"
Great result and I think the fans/Pickford have to take a lot of plaudits. Him winding them up clearly got us going and the noise was incredible thereafter. When the second went in you knew it was a matter of time. Referee was an absolute disgrace for both sides. No excuse for that kind of performance.
cough cough...... we need another match thread. if it ain't done by 5pm today I'll have to produce another masterpiece....
Surely the match day thread falls upon the person who delivered the last Successful match day thread failure to deliver would be sacrilegious and the perpretator should be burnt at the stake another hint
Hear, hear. That said a Toon win has no correlation to a good match day thread. I've done two memorable, highly acclaimed match day threads in 8 years and we've been stuffed both times. Actually, if I'm honest both threads were sh!t....
I would do one but I am not ready to assume the awesome responsibilty for the result that comes with it.
Psssstt.....I have it on good authority we'll win 3-1. I'm sure that's sufficient amunition for a cracking match day thread.
I have it on good authority that the ref is Mike Dean (tosser who cannot spot a head injury from an elbow to the face of Perez by Boly) that will also add to his thread
