But it may be in their interest to. If I was an investor only in it for the money, the plan would go something like training facilities first, then stadium, then players. The time to sell is at the top of the market, it's when you get the best return. New training facilities, new stadium, winning team it the most attractive proposition for a new owner.

Must have been a different Ruud van Nistelrooy in the team when the won the league in 2003...
Depends, does gerialco sound like an uneducated pillock who posts the same comment countless times after every game?

Poch says it will take a decade for us to win the league? May I ask how many years has it been since 1960/61? A bloody long time!

My point is that there is insufficient data to tell. You need 20 or 30 matches to draw any conclusions.

Well we don't have that many matches left and my point is that desperate times call for desperate measures.

Yup that rvn. He was an incredible goalscorer played 5 seasons for United. After 03 fergie, united right win the league for three seasons sold his star striker and wins three leagues on the trot.

Not that crackpot of an idea

Which is why I'm glad you are not our manager. Poch will pick the team based on the long run performance of the players. Occasionally that will mean we have a random bad run. He will understand that it is random and do nothing about it. That is exactly the correct thing to do.

Apart from the fact that you tried to claim Man Utd didn't win the league with van Nistelrooy in the team, which is an outright lie...

Read it how you want. What's undeniable is that united were on a massive barren run relative to how successful they were. They sold their star striker in his prime and their team didn't fall apart and in fact went on a record breaking 3 consecutive pls in a row

Selling your star striker theory isn't so crackpot if it's for the improvement of the team

Couldn't put it better. People are blinded by favouritism. I really can't understand why certain posters can't see that we were scoring better without Kane. 1,1,1,0,1,1.

Okay, I'll read it like you were trying to claim Man Utd only started winning titles when they sold van Nistelrooy, which is a lie. Because it is - and that's before bringing up how van Nistelrooy had a falling out with Ferguson in 2005-6 that saw him benched for a run of games, and I'm sure it's just a coincidence that he was shipped off at the end of that season, so trying to claim he was sold for tactical reasons is another lie.

Of course, you telling two absolute whoppers and thinking nobody would notice is irrelevant to the uneducated pillock as it fits his Narrative...

Facts are facts though. With star striker 1 in 5. Without star striker straight away 3 pl trophies, irrespective of why he was sold.

This isnt an argument that kane should be sold, but to say selling the star striker doesnt work is a crackpot theory is obviously wrong as it has worked before

Facts are facts: they won the league with him in the side, and you tried to claim they didn't

And here's the third little titbit you neglected to mention: Man Utd had this bloke called Wayne Rooney in their squad for a couple of years before Ferguson binned off van Nistelrooy for (reportedly) hurting Cristiano Ronaldo's fee-fees in training, so it's not like they only had one star striker so trying to make a direct comparison is completely ridiculous as the situations ar in no way comparable

Are you going to keep digging a hole for yourself, or are you going to drop it?

London (AFP) – Inspired by the boundless energy and predatory finishing of their South Korean talisman Son Heung-min, Tottenham are set for a thrilling climax to the season.

With a major helping hand from the increasingly influential Son, Mauricio Pochettino’s side are in the thick of the Premier League title race and on course for the Champions Leaguequarter-finals.

His latest crucial contribution to the Spurs cause came at Wembley on Wednesday as the forward turned the tide in a tense Champions League last-16 first-leg tie against Borussia Dortmund.

The Bundesliga leaders had dominated the first half but Son put Tottenham in front in the 47th minute, making a perfectly timed run to meet Jan Vertonghen’s cross and finishing with a cushioned volley.

Revitalised, Tottenham shook off the fatigue from their gruelling schedule and romped to a 3-0 win that has put them in sight of the Champions League last eight for the first time since 2011.

Son has now scored 16 times in all competitions this season and has 11 goals in his past 12 matches.

Since his return from South Korea duty at the Asia Cup at the end of last month, Son has scored in four consecutive games — a huge boost for Tottenham, who have been without injured England stars Harry Kane and Dele Alli for several weeks.

Whenever he has found the net this season, Tottenham have won.

“Next time when Son scores, I go to the dressing-room, shower and wait for the game to end,” Pochettino grinned when asked about the forward’s latest heroics.

Son has been so vital and his form so consistent that he finds himself touted as a candidate for the player-of-the-year awards.

That would be a well-deserved, if rare, moment of public vindication for the 26-year-old.

    – Popular figure –

There is a misleading perception of Son as a dutiful but low-key character content to play in the shadows of his more famous Tottenham teammates.

But Son is much more than that.

Signed by Pochettino from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, he immediately charmed his new teammates by bringing with Korean food from a top London restaurant to the training ground to share.

Always ready with a smile and a joke to lift the mood off the field, Son also brings quality and a fiercely competitive attitude on it.

Both those attributes have been essential during a winter slog that has seen Tottenham play 22 matches in 82 days.

I would not deny that Saints, like every other club, has a handful of voluble dickheads happy to besmirch the name and reputation of the club. But tbh, the only Yid chants I heard on Saturday came from the visitors end. Same thing every time we play you.

Not sure how many of your own fans are offended by the 'Yid Army' stuff? Obviously there should be zero tolerance for gas oven chants, etc., and I would expect most Saints fans to give short shrift to anyone doing that, and would hope they were identified and barred for life.

If that's really the best you can come up with, that should tell you how pathetic your argument is.

What next? Are you going to say us putting six past Tranmere with Kane on the bench is proof we should sell him? Or are you just going to wait for BobbyD to say something you agree with that just so happens to be riddled with outright lies? Because that's all you have.
