Leeds United chief slams Steve Lansdown and Bristol City in 'unacceptable' social media post. Bristol City have been attacked on social media by Leeds United majority owner Andrea Radrizzani. The Italian businessman has posted on Twitter picking up the story of a Leeds United fan who tried to sit in the home section at Ashton Gate on Saturday. The Eleven Sports founder backed a Whites fan who had explained in a social media post that the Robins had allowed a family from Cornwall to sit in the family area for Saturday's match. However, those fans say that they were removed from the ground when they were found to be wearing Leeds United socks. This is unacceptable and we will invite the family at Elland Road as guests. what can you expect from a club whom request points deductions for no reasons and didn’t accept our documentary crew to access at the ground and follow our team. REALLY @BristolCity please log in to view this image We approached Bristol City for comment on whether this was true but none was given at the time of writing this story. Picking up the Whites' fan's case, Radrizzani then slammed the Robins for their actions in ejecting the away supporters and then also hammered City owner Steve Lansdown for comments he had made in the aftermath of the Marcelo Bielsa 'spygate' incident. In particular the Italian has picked up Lansdown for his comments that Leeds United should be docked points for 'spying'. Eventually the EFL ruled that a heavy fine was sufficient only. Writing on Twitter, Radrizzani said: 'This is unacceptable and we will invite the family at Elland Road as guests. what can you expect from a club whom request points deductions for no reasons and didn’t accept our documentary crew to access at the ground and follow our team. Focus on Reading now' The chairman of the Yorkshire-based side also says that the Robins would not allow access for their TV crew at Ashton Gate. However, our understanding is that the TV documentary crew DID have access but were not able to access the tunnel area due to logistics at one point. This would be only because there were too many people in that area at the time. Bristol City have yet to respond to either Radrizzani or the original fan's complaint about being ejected with his son after being told he could sit in the home end. https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/leeds-united-chief-slams-steve-2629140
They were the ones caught cheating and owned up to it, they were found guilty and fined £200k, whillst I feel terrible for his sons they new the rules, no away fans in home fans seats, so their own faults and then the accusation of a film crew not being allowed in the ground proven to be a lie. What is the silly twat moaning about, his team won.
that is the dirt that embroils them that cheat/bend the rules, they have to keep trying to deflect their image, hope they get promoted and play in the championship in 2020/21 !
So why not just move them to an empty section of the ground. There were four or five rows blocked off at the front of the away stand?
That all sounds like b@@@@@ks to me what they are saying, they would not be allowed to buy tickets for the home sections if they are not on the data base and who the hell goes around checking peoples socks iv'e never had mine looked at down the Gate.
They’ve been found to have cheated , they didn’t like the fact SL thought as such they should have had points deducted, so they make sh@t up to try and discredit us , once again proving they have no class, and making themselves look silly and childish, I wouldn’t even bother replying as everybody knows they are lying , cheating scumbags.
Morning City fans, There seems to be a lot of tention between Bristol City and Leeds. Feel free to have your say on the LUFC Breakfast debate. https://www.not606.com/threads/the-lufc-breakfast-debate-mon-11th-mar.372555/
In the case of that fine. Leeds didn't cheat. There is no rule. The fine is arbitrary. The governing body came up with some weird illusion about good faith. Now there will be rules written up in future - You can't view your opponents training before a fixture for 72hrs.
This is a storm in a teacup. A lot of people on here and on the other Bristol City forums thought what Lansdown said was a bit pointless (no pun intended) and unnecessary at the time - and it was - but not worthy of Radrizzani’s equally pointless overreaction. Most football fans of any club would be pleased to see a rival club deducted points as it helps their own campaign. In the end, a ‘token’ fine was imposed - but the ‘legacy’ will remain for a while with the fans by way of banter - which is to be expected - and I’m sure most Leeds fans would admit that if it were US who had been investigated for it then they would ‘remind’ us about it on match days - it’s what football fans do. Regarding the little kids - I do feel a bit sorry for them - it wasn’t their fault - it was the parent for taking them in the first place. Although many of us have, at some time, sat with the opposition fans, it’s a highly dangerous thing to do and you absolutely keep your mouth SHUT - especially if your side scores - which is something that small kids would find impossible to do. I hope, no I’m certain that no city fan would lower themselves to striking a small kid, but the dad would come in for some strong stick and they might even have been ejected from the ground. On one hand they should consider themselves lucky that their socks gave them away. It was a very irresponsible thing to try and do. It would be a nice gesture to offer the kids a ticket for a game when the opposition is NOT Leeds, and maybe we might convert them to the bright side?!!!!!
Well that’s a well thought out argument . The fact is your club was found to have gone against the spirit, if not the letter of the law. SL , our owner, felt strongly enough to express his opinion that your club should be deducted points . Are you really suggesting all these accusations about us would have occurred had he not made his feelings known?, because if you are you are deluded . Besides you won the game, take the 3 points and move on.
It was notional. Unsporting. Its not the done thing. Goes against what was unwritten … But now will be.
It was actually considered to be a breach of section 3.4 of the leagues regulation. This requires clubs to act with the "utmost good faith". It was not for unsporting behaviour. The thing is there isn't really a clear definition of what "utmost good faith" is in English Law. In most contracts it is necessary to identify behaviour that constitutes "utmost good faith" and write this into the contract. This is what the EFL are now going to do.
